This chapter is a little short, sorry! I will make the next one longer. :D

“Avangalenne! Wake up!” I heard Cambrie yelling. I slowly opened my eyes seeing a blurry figure over me, and then I felt the pain of my head. “Oh thank goodness! You scared me, Avangalenne!”

“What happened?” I asked quietly looking around realizing we were in the dorm with Will.

“You totally kicked their butts, and you connected with your powers! You had a ball of fire around you and then it just exploded off of you making them fly everywhere. Will and I have been trying to figure that out for months and you got it in one night, amazing!” I jumped out of my bed, but a little too fast because I stumbled and almost fell but Will caught me before I could hit the ground.

“Are you okay?” Will smirked with his hand still wrapped around me. ‘Dang, you’re adorable’ he thought.

I blushed and said, “Yeah, I am fine, sorry.”

“Don’t be,” Will smiled. Why does he have this effect on me? I mean seriously, I just met him!

I smiled back but as soon as I thought of James the smile quickly went off my face. “Wait, where James and his friends?” I panicked.

“They got expelled for drugs, alcohol and continuous fighting,” Will said with a smile on his face. He had suck perfect white teeth. Oh my goodness… what is this kid doing to me. I can’t like him…

I was so relieved; I wouldn’t have to deal with them anymore. I already know I am going to regret asking this but, “How’s Sophie?”  I looked at Will as I got out of his arms and his face went blank.

Cambrie was quick to get into this conversation, “I will tell you about it later! Let’s talk about something else, k? Sooo, how ‘bout that airplane food?” she joked and laughing at her own joke.

Will interrupted. “She can know now,” Will turned to me which made my stomach fill with butterflies. “I broke up with her because of the way she treated you. I mean I know she has jealousy issues, but that was not okay. After you passed out she said ‘Serves you right’. She had no right to say anything she said to you. We were pretty much losing until you got there to save us and she wasn’t helping at all! She should have been thanking you, not critiquing you.”

I looked down at my feet trying not to blush, “You didn’t have to do that you know?” I whispered.

“What?” he retorted.

“Break up with her. You didn’t have to.”

I looked up and he winked at me, “I wanted to.”

After I got done getting ready, Cambrie and I left to go to our first hour. We had 1st and 6th hour together. “Hey there pretty lady! Oh my goodness golly, you hair looks so cute straightened, you have such pretty dirty blonde hair.” She admired.

“Says the girl whose hair curls beautifully! You know guys like blonde hair better than my color,” I teased.

“Not Will!” She mocked. I tried not to blush. “Awww, I made you blush! You like him don’t you! You do!” Cambrie laughed, teasing my red face.

When we got to first hour, almost everyone had either a piercing or a tattoo. “Are we the only normal people here?” I whispered hoping no one heard me.

“Pretty much,” She laughed. We sat in the two free seats next to each other.  The teacher walked in and he was an older guy. A little scary looking actually, okay a lot. He looks like the kind of guy that yells at kids to get off his lawn. His skin was wrinkly and he wore jeans and a nice shirt with suspenders.

“Hello class,” he talked with a light British accent. “My name is Mr. Gutherbean, and that is what I shall be called, nothing more and nothing less. We have a new student, can you stand up please Ms. Wilson.” I stoop up a little embarrassed. “Thank you, you may sit down now.”

“Don’t worry, he does that to everyone,” Cambrie whispered to me.

“Excuse me,” he looked at a paper, “Avangalenne, this is your first day and I best not be talking.”

“Sorry, Mr. Gutherbean, that was me not her,” said Cambrie taking the blame.

“I appreciate you taking the blame Ms. Longbell, but I saw what I saw and she was talking,” he said she like I was a delinquent or something.

“Okay, Mr. Gutherbean, I am sorry. It won’t happen again,” I said calmly.

“I don’t appreciate the sarcasm, but I will take your apology anyways.”

It’s like he was out to get me or something. It was obvious that I wasn’t talking. Everyone could see that! Today was just terrible throughout! Sophie was in my second hour and I could feel the glare of her on the back of my neck because Will sat next to me. Going from class to class everyone bumped into my shoulder so my head was pounding in pain and it didn’t help that Cambrie wanted to talk to me in every class and in every class my head just got worse and worse.

By the time I got to my 6th hour my head was pounding, but I was relived it was my last hour of the day. So many thoughts were going through my head that I jumped at the feel of someone touching my shoulder. “Are you okay?” I turned around and it was Will.

“Yeah, I am fine,” I looked up at him. He gave me a confused look, like he didn’t know what I was talking about. Oh great he must have thought that not said it out loud. I am such an idiot.

“What are you--” Will was cut off by the bell. He hurried to sit next to me before anyone else did. He tapped my shoulder and a vision of a note went through my head. I looked over and he handed me a note. I opened it and it read:

Avangalenne,

Are you okay?

Will

I wrote back:

Will,

I am fine

Avangalenne

He wrote back:

Avan,

I know you are lying to me something is up. You can trust me you know?

Will

I wrote back:

Will,

I know I can, but it’s not a big deal. Don’t worry about it.

Avangalenne

After that he never wrote back. I feel like I am pushing him away just like I do with everyone else that comes into my life… great.
