I love my job.
I mean you would too if you got to go around Driving people crazy... depending on your sense of humor.
Humans know my name and fear it...well they would, if you were alive about 2500 years ago, also they didn't fear it as much as the Archangel of fear, Natalia, but never mind that, you get the point.
Anyway,
I had been sitting in a tree for the past hour watching a human beg for death. I looked down from my perch at the older man, no older than 40. Who was on his knees...
Hehe
...begging for mercy. You see, when I drive people crazy, It's a process. If I go to quickly...
Snap.
Yup. Like a twig. His mind that is.
I am Raven, Archangel of Insanity. Quite a title, I know, it's quite a mouthful and it's dreadful to introduce myself. For all of you simple minded folk out there, that means I'm an angel, but I won't hesitate to cut your throat. Also, I drive people crazy. I'm probably a little bit crazy myself.
Anyway..
"Kill me!" The human screamed. "I can't take this anymore! Please !" I rolled my eyes at the confirmation that this soul didn't belong to me anymore.
I waited for Sébastian to show up while I used hallucinations to keep him.. contained.
Humans like toddlers, always needing a distraction. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my pocket watch, checked the time and snapped it closed.
He is late. The bastard.
I twiddled my thumbs for what seemed like years --if you know me, you know I know can't sit still. And I hate having to wait for someone. Hate having to wait, period. I hate a lot of things. Suddenly --and finally-- a black mist appeared and slowly rolled off of a silhouette.
"I'm here. Sorry, I took so long I got held up. Some mother begged me to save her child. So entertaining. "
I jumped out of the tree, my black knee high combat boots jingling. "God, I've only been waiting for forever.," I muttered as Sébastien grabbed my hand pulling me close and kissing me lightly. I blushed slightly before pushing him away. "I'm working." I deflected and he sighed before turning his gaze at the human, still crying in the mud. "Awe Raven, what did you do now.." he groaned. "Tee hee?" I giggled, looking up at him. He sighed and snapped the human's neck. He reached into the man's chests and pulled out a rainbow colored sludge. He chuckled. "Cloud 7." The sludge disappeared.
In case you didn't know, Sébastien is the Archangel of Death. Pretty obvious in hindsight but you know.. Humans are toddlers.
"Thank you Sébastien," I said before He pulled me back in and kissed me again. "I'm looking forward to tonight," he said against my lips. I chuckled. "Me too. See you at home?"
"You always do."
And with that my arms that were wrapped around his waist went through him as he transported away.
Sébastien I aren't, going out. We have more of friends with benefits thing. It's confusing. A girl has needs, right? Even if that girl is immortal.
I unfolded my wings and took off. I was flying over a city in northern America looking for the next soul I have to harvest when I finally gave up for the night and transported to cloud one.
My home.
I landed on a building and was about to vanish from earth when my highly evolved hearing picked up a whisper a few apartments down. "You are crazy Alec. Angels don't exist. Get yourself together." I was interested. But sadly, thanks to a few crazy archangels, I wasn't allowed contact with humans, besides to eat. I shook my head and dispersed into a purple mist. My feet came out from under me and I felt as though I was liquid. A mist. I twisted inside out and right again. And then as quickly as it happened, my feet were on the ground and I was solid again. in heaven.
