Chris was already unhorsed, his mount dying against multiple spear tabs. The goblins were ferocious and nasty. He has already lost track on how many he had killed, and he had already began to fight conservatively as his stamina bar has been constantly on the red ever since his mount died.
*Twack twack*
A goblin died against his attack, a quick sweep and stab by his sword. He backed off and raised his shield in defense as two more goblins rushed him. He waited for his stamina bar to to move before stabbing again. These goblins were easy to kill but there's just too many. He and his men were being slowly, but steadily pushed back. Some of his men had already kicked the bucket. Death by a thousand pinpricks was best to describe the mess they were in.
"Oh boy!" His friend yelled. "Wouldn't it be great if we're mobile?" Sarcasm dripping like poison permeated his voice.
"I didn't ask you to save me!" Chris yelled back, feeling a little bit guilty. "So quit bitching!"
He looked at his men. "On three, first row will move back to the rear and the next line will move forward to fight." Chris ordered. This was the best he could come up with at the moment. This provides ample time for the first ranks to rest and regain their stamina and bandage their wounded. Their small hollow square stood and survived.
The number of dead were beginning to pile up. In a few minutes they'll be moving the square a few meters back.
They were like a magnet on the middle of the field. Too deep and too far out to be rescued.
"Chris, look!" Kramer pointed at a short distance. It was the King and his army, an NPC, followed closely by several huge clan of players. They made steady progress towards the goblin lair. Not soon after, a steady beating of the drum signalled the goblin's response. Their king, too, joined the fray.
Chris cursed under his breath. "We're goddamn stuck here. Fight! To the King!" He yelled to his team.
"To the human King!" Kram yelled after him.
