A Rellamy Story

Chapter 9

Raven tries to call into Abby on her radio but it's not working. She realizes that the crash must have damaged it. She says to Bellamy, "We should start moving. But first, I'm going to grab some things to see if I can fix this." She holds up the broken radio and Bellamy nods his head. "Ok, I'll go and tell the others." Raven nods her head and starts packing some things as Bellamy walks away. Bellamy goes to Octavia, Clarke, and the others. "Hey, Raven's radio broke so we're going to start heading back. She just has to grab a few things so she can fix it." Raven walks up to them and says, "Ready!" Bellamy looks at Clarke and whispers to Raven, "Ok, I'll catch up with you. I just have to talk to Clarke for a sec." Raven hesitates but then she nods her head. Octavia grabs Raven's hand and drags her along with her. Bellamy grabs Clarke's arm to stop her from walking. "Hey, I'm sorry." Clarke shakes her head. "It's ok. I knew what I was getting myself into when we started this. Raven's really nice, Bell. I can see why you love her so much." Bellamy smiles. "Yeah. Thanks for understanding. I'm still sorry though." Clarke smiles and takes Bellamy's hand. "Don't be. She's the love of your life. I can see it in the way you look at her. You would do anything and everything for her. I would give anything for that kind of love." Bellamy hugs Clarke and then they continue walking to catch up to the others.

Raven just met Octavia's boyfriend, Lincoln. Raven says, "I like you, Lincoln. I'm happy you two found each other. I can see how happy you two make each other." Octavia hugs Raven. "Thank you, Raven! That means a lot coming from you." Raven laughs but then her face drops. She hesitantly asks, "Is something going on between Bellamy and Clarke?" Octavia looks away and then looks at Lincoln. Lincoln nods his head at Octavia to answer Raven. Octavia sighs and looks back at Raven. "There was something. I was against it from the start but I just wanted to support Bellamy in whatever he wanted. He was miserable without you down here, Raven. I just wanted to see him happy again." Raven looks down. "I know. I wouldn't have wanted him to wait around for me anyway. So I'm happy he found someone he could be happy with. Even if it means..." She hesitates. Octavia asks, "Even if it means... What?" Raven sighs. "Even if it means I lose him for good. If he's happier with Clarke, I don't want to be an obligation." Octavia stops. "You are not an obligation! He loves you, Raven! He wants to be with you!" Raven gets choked up. "It's ok, O. Umm, if you don't mind, I'm going to stay back a little bit. I just want to thing some, ok?" Octavia hugs Raven and then lets her go. She watches as Raven walks away from them with her arms crossed and her head down.
