We travelled through parts of the city that I was familiar with and to some people, hadn't even heard of.
Never had I ever though that this would be happening earlier today let alone in a my whole life, (going out late at night with people I just met wasn't my cup of tea).
When I was riding my bike I tried to have a glimpse of my watch without falling off it, but I managed to stay put and I saw that it was 09:30 pm. Damnn how late it was, I would be in bed by now, not strolling off into the night on an adventure. We soon got one of the many robots and heard from the audio voice on our phones that we must keep on going straight.Everyone decided to meet up at the known mall by many people. There was only 15 minuted to go till we got there...We had been riding for about 30 minutes already. Although it would take my mom and I about 20 minutes to get to the mall, it would take us 45 minutes on our transport to get there.
Minutes soon past and we started seeing other kids some who I know but others who weren't as familiar. Soon our group went up to about 300 people by the time we go to the mall.
It was chaos, kids were phoning timelessly over and over again to their parents who neve picked up. Some were crying their eyes out, while other were just pacing around. I've never seen this many concerned and distressed people in my life and I felt so bad for them and for my self too.We all went into the mall and decided we would wait for others to arrive...It took two hours until everyone had arrived and the mayhem started to die down. From what it looked like there were about 8 to 11 thousands school children, ages 12 to 18 from what I could tell.
We then all decided to go to the food court where there would hopefully be enough room for everyone to fit in.
Surprisingly there was and everyone soon quietened down.We all stated the fact that we couldn't call any adult that we knew, which included emergency services and adults and kids from out of our city. It was almost as if we trapped from the outside world and no one would dare to let us out or know what is gapping outside.
The main people who was in front of everyone was basically our squad and a few other people I knew from different schools. Almost like the leaders but not trying to act to dominant in our positions to not cause any uproar and unfairness. We gave everyone we could a chance to come up and speak their ideas and opinions. We finally decided that it was a good idea to stay in the mall as we were all safe and contained. We all decided on rules to stay together when we went to bathrooms or to scout around. It hadn't really dawned on me that no body was under the age of 13 from who I talked to which was a bit concerning. Neither was there anybody that was over the age of 17, which is also strange.
We agreed on getting comfortable bedding and sleeping bags to sleep with so we weren't that uncomfortable sleeping on the hard ground . Some of us went to camping stores, while others tried linen and bedding stores and we would all meet up in 30 minutes back at the food court. Luckily the wifi was on in some shops too I was happy to see that working but the lights weren't working. Nothing we even went to the main switch of the whole mall and turned it off and back on again and when we tested, the wifi went back on but no lights. We all had to use our cell phone torches or torches we'd got from home to scout our way around the dark mall.
In 30 minutes we were all back where we had told everyone to be and it looked like everyone had something that was comfortable enough to sleep on or in. Funnily enough Jenna stuck with me...so did Lesego and her friend Ruva that she had found. The others joined their friends. But then I also wanted to go see if my friends from school were somewhere so I could have a little comfort with people I know. I soon found them through the crowd of lying bodies and soon after I was lying down with them. We all were talking about how we couldn't get to our parents and how every grown up and child under the age of 13 was missing,so as the nature of the city. Everything was quiet.
By midnight nearly 1 am most of us were sleeping and soon I drifted off to sleep.*****
How is the story panning out for you guys? Quite funny to think how thousands of children can be under such control and no fight between each other. Never would you think that there would be calmness between the youth of society.
