This is a songfic, meaning a fanfiction that goes by the words of a song.

So here's what's going on so far:

You had confessed to Karma on your birthday. He had hidden in the seat across from you in your favourite cafe. His cocky, arrogant face gave away that he had been running away from Kuro-sensei again. Probably for stealing his money again. You offered him some of your (f/c/f - favourite cake flavour) cake that you ordered. After eating a little, he confessed that (f/c/f) was his favourite cake flavour too. During that time, you had confessed that you liked him. He accepted your feelings and the two of you started to date.

But after 6 months of dating, he started acting differently.

You got your keys, but where ya goin'?
The third degree just isn't workin'

He started skipping out on some of your date nights, saying he had other things planned, or he had practice with Nagisa, Isogai, and Maehara.

You thought of following him to the practices a few times, but immediately talked yourself out of it, you believed in him. He skipped class all the time. You thought.

It had been that way for a few weeks, but you kept believing in him. At one point, he had left his phone in your house overnight. You put it on the console table in the front area of the house and left it. But when notification after notification started popping up, you couldn't NOT look anymore.

That was his first mistake.
He had been getting texts from a person with the nickname of 'Black Dove <3'. The messages consisted of lots of "Hurry up!"'s and "Where are you!"'s. You stubbornly didn't let it get to you and optimistically told yourself that those texts could have been from one of the boys, though the heart at the end of the nickname dug itself in your mind, throwing rocks at your quivering heart.

But that didn't stop you from loving him as you did before. Yet, he still became more distant. You only had date nights three times a month. Sometimes, he would even have to leave early. You wouldn't stop loving him though, your heart wouldn't allow it.

It had been one of those days that Karma was busy. You had gone out to get a(n) (f/d - favourite drink) from (f/d/s - favourite drink shop/store) and happened to pass by Nagisa, Isogai, and Maehara. The three boys were talking with food in their hands, the red head nowhere in sight. You being the kind classmate you were, said hello to your classmates. You had asked if they had been at practice. They confirmed that they had.

That was his second mistake.

You had then asked if Karma had been practicing with them. "No, he hasn't come in a while..." They responded, then came up with a whole bunch of conspiracy theories why he wasn't there. You quietly snuck away. Your chipping and bandaged heart couldn't take much more of their reason Karma lied.

But you kept going, you tried to keep the relationship you had with Karma alive. He became more arrogant with you and sometimes stood you up on certain dates. He stopped giving you reasons why he couldn't make it to your dates. You tried to stay positive, Karma just didn't want you to hear him say these things over and over again. You started doubting your own reasons.

You couldn't take it anymore. You were going to tell Karma everything. You still loved him. You hoped that he thought the same, though it was pointless.

You saw familiar red hair in your favourite cake shop. He was facing you but was talking with the person in front of him. You walked into the shop and right up to the table. Across from him was a shocked and blushing Okuda. Karma's face was shocked at first but then went blank, void of all emotion. You smiled a blank, broken smile, you turned to Okuda. "Don't let him break your heart." Your nose stung as you felt tears well up in your eyes. "I should have known from the beginning." You said to Karma,
