(Soulmate AU) Everyone has two timers on their right wrist, one that tells the time of your meeting with your soulmate and one for your time of death. They disappear once they've hit zero.
(A/N): I'm going to try and do this one in 2nd person (You) please bare with me while I do this.

In a world filled with ghouls, people would think that giving people timers were 'the ones above's way of giving people hope. But not for you. Unlike most people, you only had one timer and you got teased about it a lot. People would say that there was no one in this would for you, or that you would die alone. You tried not to let it get to you. It wasn't that bad, was it?
You had looked at calendars online before and found out that your deathday was on (Y/B/D - Your Birthday), just adding to my luck. You made the most of your last days. Spending time with your family and friends that lived in ward 20. You were out to buy some (F/F) when you took a peek at your wrist.
You only had 4 minutes left. You rushed to the pedestrian crossing as the light was changing soon.
3 minutes.
You crossed the street. And waited for the next.
2 minutes.
The light switched and you rushed across. You made it in one piece.
Good. You thought to yourself. At least I'm not like some dumb people and get hit by a car and die.
30 seconds.
You heard a car honk it's horn. A ghoul fight had made their way onto the street and the cars tried to swerve around them to avoid causing damages to their cars. But a truck wasn't so lucky. It tried to move, only to not be able to get back on the road, coming straight for me. I looked at my wrist one more time.
1 second.
Yep, this is how I die. I thought. I'm glad it's over.
The truck hit you but before you closed your eyes for the final time, you saw a white haired ghoul trying to push you out of the way. That's what you get for helping someone like me. Echoed through my head. But thanks anyways.
(Did you think it was over? NOPE! (/*ω*)︵┻━┻) (Also, I don't care that a truck wouldn't have killed Kaneki, do you want this story or naw?)
You opened your eyes. What? No. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY FOR ME TO BE ALIVE! I sat up. Only to hit my head on something. Stupid, clumsy (Y/N). You looked up only to lock eyes with a white haired...ghoul? Who was rubbing a now red spot on his forehead. "Ah, hello there. Sorry, I hit your head with mine. Right?" He nodded. You looked at your wrist, your timer was gone! What? Your grabbed his wrist and looked at it, his was too. You didn't notice the paleness of his face disappear as a rare redness replaced it.
"Our timers are gone!" You exclaimed. You stood up and looked around excitedly, "We must be in the afterlife!" Indeed your surroundings were unfamiliar. But it wasn't super bright like you would imagine, though. It seemed like a normal place. If normal included people that could fly and were painting on air with their hands.
You looked excitedly at your quiet companion, who was watching your excited face scan your surroundings. Then your smile fell, much to his disappointment.
Sighing heavily, you sunk back down to your sitting position. You sadly looked into your companion's eyes as your nose stung a little signifying that you were going to cry.
"I'm sorry." You said in almost a whisper. "This is my fault that you're stuck in this mess. You shouldn't have saved me." You hung your head in shame. There was a moment of silence until...
"No." He said simply and firmly. "I'm glad I saved you." Your head lifted slightly to look at his face. It was red. You giggled softly and nodded. "Well then, you're stuck with me. What's your name?" You held out your hand. "I'm (Y/N) (L/N)." He gripped your hand and said, "Kaneki Ken." You smiled. "Kaneki~San? You're a ghoul, right? Why did you waste your life on me?"
Kaneki shook his head. "I felt the need to save you, I guess I've still got some humanity in me." You looked him in the eyes and said, "If you saved me, you're defenitly not human." And you hugged him.
You didn't need your timer to tell you that he was your soulmate.
