Liam told me to be at the New York City hotel for 10 o’clock to go to dinner with the guys.  It was 2 weeks before Christmas and I was freezing in the little black dress Liam always loved. He said “You look breathtaking darling” when I wore it so I figured why not go all out tonight since I hadn’t gotten to spend to much time with him since the guys got to the city.

The concert had finished around 9 and everyone was going to some club Zayn had heard about downtown.  Kim and Amber were supposed to be here by now.  I texted Liam saying I was waiting outside just as I saw a limo pull up.  Kim and Amber popped their heads out of the sunroof waving at me and dancing to the distinct sounds of Best Song Ever coming through the speakers.

“What are you two crazies doing?” I laughed walking up to the door.

“Harry sent the limo ahead for us after we left the concert to get ready” Kim said excitedly.

“Why didn’t ya pick me up then? It’s freezing out here.” I said frustrated.  Amber just shrugged her shoulders and laughed as then retreated into the warmth of the interior.  Just then I felt the warm air from the lobby hit the back of my bare legs.  I turned and saw the other four members of One Direction come barreling out of the hotel shoving each other out of the way.  Four? I noticed that Liam was missing.

“BRITTANY!!” They all yelled simultaneously and crushed me in a group hug.  I hugged them back.  I had missed the other boys just as much as they had apparently missed me.  Louis kept an arm around me, and I asked where Liam was. They all exchanged a smug look, before Harry spoke up,

“Liam said you two were going to take a different limousine.”  I narrowed my eyes at him and poked him in the chest, “What are you up to Styles?”

“Oh it’s not me I swear,” he said laughing and raising his hands in surrender.  “I know better than to piss you off.”  I looked at Niall who mumbled something about wanting to get a seat close to the mini bar for peanuts before he and Louis darted into the car.  Zayn just smiled knowingly and gave me another hug.

“Liam’s a lucky guy,” he said evasively before climbing in the limo.  Harry tried to quickly follow, but I put out a hand to stop him.  He flicked his green eyes at the limo longingly.

“Harry, what’s going on?” I asked.  “Where’s Liam?”

He gave me an encouraging smile as he took my hand from his shoulder and gave it a kiss before walking towards the open door, “Where he’s always been.”  He looked back grasping the handle as Kim tugged him into the limo “Waiting for you.” He gave me one of his famous ‘trust me’ smiles and slid into the car.

“That answers nothing Styles!!” I yelled at the window as they pulled away from the sidewalk.  My phone buzzed.  It was a text from Liam, “Almost ready. Come up here.”  I groaned.  Heels were not the most opportune shoes of choice to be walking more than necessary in.

The clerk at the front desk gave me a snooty look, when I asked what room Liam Payne was in, and if I could get a keycard to the elevator.

“No fans are allowed up to that private floor,” he said condescendingly.

“He’s expecting me,” I said starting to feel like a little kid.  “I visited last week, but I don’t remember the room number. My friend's are staying on the same floor.  I wasn't able to book a room in time though," I was rambling.

"My name’s Brittany.  Brittany Monroe.” I stopped and saw that he had absolutely no clue who I was and obviously didn’t care.  “I’m Liam's girlfriend.”  I tried hopefully.  Apparently that wasn’t good enough.  He picked up the phone with a loud and obnoxious sigh.
