Ok guys I'm so sorry it's taken this long for me to update. School's been insane and since it's my last semester there's been more work than previously.  But, I hope this was worth the wait! Again, this was my first attempt at this type of writing so be gentle. Lol and the whole plot of the story really gets started after this!! :D Like and comment!!

That night:

“…and then some of your fans spotted us in Times Square and asked for autographs and pictures and we found out they tweeted and soon we were surrounded by hundreds of girls asking us where you guys were and if we were meeting up with you later and all that and then we had our own little Directioner party going on with dancing and music smack dab in the middle of New York City.” I said excitedly retelling some of the day’s events to Liam as we snuggled on the couch in his now spotless hotel room.

He was back in his nighttime uniform of no shirt and his beloved sweats.  I was still in my clothes from today’s adventure.

“Yeah, I saw that this afternoon,” Liam said guiltily.  “The fans were tweeting me detailing how kind you were for taking time out of your trip to visit with them.  I’m sorry you didn’t get to spend most of your day sight seeing because of it though.”

I shrugged.

“It’s alright.  It was fun to meet some of the fans.  At least these didn’t have a problem with us dating you three,” I said remembering some of the darker moments of dating a member of the biggest boy band on the planet.  “They were actually a lot of fun when they realized we were just as big of fans of One Direction as they were.”

He laughed.

“Yeah, but they’ve never seen you backstage at one of the shows before.”

“Thankfully,” I said giggling. “I almost knocked Paul out a few times with the way I was dancing.”

“Yeah, but you’re cute when you fangirl,” he said affectionately kissing my nose.

“I’ve had many years to practice,” I replied proudly.

“Well, I promise you that before we leave New York I’m taking you to all the sites,” he assured me.

“I know you will.  You’re my white knight after all,” I said happily.

He ran a strong hand along my arm.  If only every day could be like this, I thought as I closed my eyes and snuggled in closer to him.

“Babe?”

“Hmm?”

“I know you really wanted to win that bet today,” he said.

I chuckled, “You know how much I hate to lose.”

He was quiet for a while, “But you weren’t just sad because you lost…you were sad because it meant you wouldn’t get to see your family.”

My eyes flew open in shock as I stilled against his chest.  Would I ever get used to the way he knew my heart like one of their songs?  I wondered, amazed that he was just as observant as I said Harry and Niall were.

“It’s ok,” I said coolly, shrugging it off.  “It wasn’t that big a deal.”

I was lying though.  I missed my family so much.

We had been in NYC with the guys for about a month now, and no matter how many phone calls I made back home it wasn’t quite the same as having my family with me to fuss and fight and laugh and love.  I loved Liam so much, and I would never trade a second of the time I got to spend with him, but I missed home.
