Chapter 17: Another battle

Sabine was slowly recovering.

Ezra helped her with whatever she needed.

He didn't want her out of his sight.

He was so worried something could happen.

After he almost lost her...he just couldn't bare it. He had to be with her.

All the time.

Today Sabine just wanted to take a shower.

Ezra wasn't allowing this to happen.

"Ezra I'll be fine!" Sabine reassured him.

"But what if you slip? It's too risky!" Ezra said, worried.

"Ezra I need to shower-and no you are not coming in the bathroom with me." Sabine said rolling her eyes.

"But-but-" Ezra started.

"I'll be fine Ezra." Sabine said. "Just wait out here for me." And with that she went into the bathroom and closed the door.

Ezra stayed outside the bathroom door, jumping at the slightest sound.

Sabine started humming.

"ARE YOU OKAY?!" Ezra yelled.

"EZRA I'm singing." Sabine said annoyed.

"Okay okay.." Ezra said, crossing his arms.

After awhile Sabine came out.

"Are you alright? Do you need help getting into bed? Are you hurt?" Ezra asked like an overprotective mother.

"Ezra. For the love of-I'm fine okay? I know you're worried but I'm fine! If I need you I'll let you know okay?" Sabine said, putting her hand on Ezra's shoulder.

"Alright..." Ezra said, feeling unsure.

Kanan and Hera were about to go on a mission. Ezra was needed as well. As was Zeb.

Sabine was too weak to be going on any missions at the moment, so she would be staying behind with commander Sato and the rest of the rebels.

Ezra was upset by this, as he worried about Sabine.

What if something happened and he wasn't there? What if she died and he wasn't there to hold her?  What if...oh just anything! What if anything! He just wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

Sabine told him multiple times that she would be fine. She truly was alright now, she just wasn't strong enough to be fighting.

Finally, it was time for the others to go.

Ezra fussed over Sabine for 2 hours before the others finally got him to go.

"And just remember if you need ANYTHING just signal my comm and-" Ezra was lecturing Sabine.

"Ezra. I'm fine!" Sabine said, giving him a slight shove. "Just go. I'll be alright." Sabine smiled.

Ezra nodded and gave her one last hug before he left.

The mission was going fine.

Sabine was fine, and Ezra and the others were fine.

Nothing to worry about.
Right?

Right?

Wrong.

Very very wrong.

Imperials.

Again really?

Yup. Imperials would just not leave them alone.

Sabine currently had stitches in her side, that were still healing.

Meaning that if she moved, they could open-leading to a repeat of before.

Her dying.

The rebels engaged emergency protocols.

The ship was hit.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Four.

The rebels had repealed the empire-but their ship was in ruins and needed to be evacuated.

Except for one thing...during the battle...

Sabine had fallen.

During the battle she had slid across the room. Her side caught on a sharp object that had also slid across the room.

And her stitches were open. Great.

She was bleeding again. She needed these stitched now.

The door, however, was locked due to the emergency protocol.

She was stuck.

Alone.

"Oh karabast!" Sabine muttered, clutching her side.

"Ezra was right...I hate when he's right." She half chuckled.

Then she remembered.

Her comm.

Well. Ezra was gonna be saying *i told you so* anyway. Might as well contact him.

Sabine turned her comm on. "Ezra?" Sabine said, weakly.

"Sabine?" Ezra said, and Sabine could hear the ship in the background jumping to hyperspace.

"Hey Ezra so....*coughs* I might need some help..." Sabine said meekly.

"What happened?!" Ezra said, concerned.

"We were attacked and I-" Sabine went unconscious and dropped her comm.

The comm sat on the floor.

*sabine? Sabine?! The comm went off.....
