Chapter 10

Zanara

It's been about two weeks since the press conference and Ashton looks like a two year old and has started to walk, I haven't seen Jelani around since as well. I suppose he's avoiding me for good purpose. Today was a day of relaxing because we have been busy planning for the wedding which is in a week, anxiety is starting to kick in.

Damon sits down next to me and I kiss him. He kissed my back in a way that made me feel like he wanted it so badly. I kissed him back roughly and crawled into his lap, not breaking the kiss.

Damon slowly pulls away, "Zanara, I'm sorry but I want to wait until we're married, I love you so much, I just feel like it's the right thing to do."

I smile and crawl off his lap, recently my body figure has become rounded, Damon has been supportive of me a lot.

"I'm going to go check on Ashton." I said to him.

he nodded his head, I walked down the hallway and entered Ashton's room. I picked him up and carried him out into the hallway. Where Jelani was running.

"Jelani?" I asked.

"Oh, hey Zanara." he said looking at my stomach. "Put on a few pounds? Damon starting to get to you?"

I set Ashton down, "Go into the living room and find Daddy." I told him, I looked up at Jelani, "I'm pregnant." I told him.

His face got extremely red, "Zanara, I-"

I cut him off, "Save it, I can see that you care, I was hoping I would be able to see you at my wedding but at this rate, I doubt it." I turned and walked away.

"Zanara, I'm sorry, can you give me a second chance." He pleaded.

I turned around, "If I remember correctly I gave you several chances. You took them all and threw them in the trash."

"All I'm asking for is one more, I promise things will be like old times, except your a mother and we both have mates. No touching involved, I promise."

"Jelani, your promises aren't worth shit."

"A mother and still have a potty mouth, see you're not that different."

"Go to hell."

"See you there." he replied, the second it came out of his mouth he regretted it.

"No you won't because I stay loyal to my mate unlike some people."

"It's not because of that, it's because you are a blood sucker, this isn't how it's supposed to happen, I should be killing you right now. Zanara you used to be proud to be a slayer and to kill vampires and now you're one of them."

"See Jelani you can't let things go, just accept it, things change you need to move on." I turned around and found Damon and Ashton sitting together.

"Is everything ok?" Damon asked.

"Yep," I said.

"You seem-"

"Fine, I'm fine." I replied.

"Ashton why don't you go get a snack." Damon said to Ashton.

Ashton gets up and walks to the pantry.

Damon leans in, "It's Jelani isn't it?"

"Yes."

"What did he do now?"

"Said I was fat, I told him I'm pregnant and then he called me a blood sucker."

He smiles, "I'll be back." He gets up and Ashton looks up at him, "Stay here and keep your mom company." Damon says to Ashton.
