Chapter 4

Hunter's POV
~earlier that evening~

I was sitting in the kitchen eating a sandwich and drinking a beer. I saw Anthony walk down stairs with a huge grin on his face. He was wearing a navy blue 3/4 pants, a fitted white vest, slippers and his hair was neatly combed. My eyebrows frowned in confusion. "Where are you going?" His eyes looked like they were going to jump out of their sockets. "N-nowhere." He stuttered. I rolled my eyes. "Anthony, my best friend, where are you going?" I asked with a sweet smile on my face.

"I'm just going for a walk." I could hear his heart beating super fast. It sounded like it was going to fly out of his chest. "You're a bad lair, you know that?" He swallowed nervously. "I'm giving you one more chance. Where are you going?" He didn't say anything. "Where are you going!" I said in my Alpha voice. He had no choice but to answer me now.
"I'm going out with Sara." He said almost in a whisper. Sara, as in Amber's best friend. I smirked at that thought. "Will Amber be there?" I asked. "I-I don't kn-now?" I rolled my eyes. Here we go with the stuttering again.

"Where are you going to meet her?" I asked him. I wonder if he would stutter again? "We're going to a Rave." I raised an eyebrow. How romantic. They're going to a Rave? I'm sure she'll be there, and if she's not, I'll just come back home or stay and enjoy myself. "When are you leaving?" I asked Anthony who stood there looking very uncomfortable. "In about 20 minutes." I smiled. "Ok. I'm coming with you." His eyes grew wider, if that was even possible.

After about 30 minutes I came down. I was in a black jeans and a maroon colored V neck. I wore sneakers and my hair was wet. "Took you long enough. We were suppose to leave 10 minutes ago." I just smirked at him. "Well..... I had to make sure I look good, especially if my mate is going to be there." He just rolled his eyes. "Well come on. We're already late."

After about a 30 minute drive we arrived. The mansion from the outside looked abandoned but we would have heard the music coming from the inside. As we entered I smirked. It's been a while since I've come to a Rave. I love the vibe of everything. The music, the paint, the lights, the drinks and of course the dancing. God! You gotta love the dancing!

We went to the corner of the room, close to the DJ. I saw Anthony took out his phone and texted someone. I guest it was Sara. I guest correctly because less than 5 minutes after Sara came and kissed Anthony. I rolled my eyes.

I kinda envied them. They always thought of ways to meet up and see each other. They truly loved each other. They talk to each other every day, every chance they get. But me and Amber😞. The way she looks at me, it's like I just killed her puppy. Why can't she just love me. Why can- my thoughts were cut off when it hit me. That smell. My mate's lovely intoxicating scent. I followed it.

I saw her with a guy. I recognize him. Isn't he Amber's third in command? I stopped and listened to what she was telling him. "Jacob there's something I want to tell you." Oh. So his name is Jacob. "Ok, what is it?" He asked her. I recognize something else about him, but I just can't put my finger on it. "I've been trying to avoid this but it's always on my mind." Is she nervous? Why is she nervous? She's never nervous. And she's even looking at the ground. "Come on Amber, spill." She raised up and looked at his face, then closes her eyes. What the hell is going on?

"Here goes nothing. I love you!" At that moment, I felt my heart broke. I never thought 3 words could make me want to kill myself. I felt like I could go in a corner and cry, and never stop. Then it hit me! I recognize his scent. He's the guy that kissed her. My blood started to boil. "You have no idea how long I wanted those words to come out of your mouth." He said. They both looked at each other and was smiling.

Was she doing this on purpose? Does she just want to hurt me and see me suffer?
"Jacob I don't know what it is. Hunter is my mate and I'm suppose to love him and him alone but, I still love you. I can't get you out of my head." Thats it. I've had enough. Without thinking I punched Jacob square in the jaw.
