I stand here, probably looking very awkward. I don't know this "Sandra Alva". Or at least I think I don't. I don't know anymore. However for a weird probably unexplainable reason, I feel at home when I look at her eyes. I also feel sad. In her eyes I also see not love and care, but sad and pleading. I want to cry for some strange reason. Like maybe I haven't talked to her in days and I'm glad she's finally talking to me... that's probably not it. After a while of deep thinking, I look at her carefully and see she is lost at words and also doing some deep thinking, when out of nowhere James and Andy return with a man in long white coat that has a red cross on it.
"Hello, My name is Doctor Anderson I am the doctor here." He informs me and sticks out his hand. I want to remember something here but I can't. I know I shaked someone's hand recently... He turns to Sandra.
"These fine young men tell me that you came here and the patient here tells you she does not know you. Is this true?" Anderson asks her.
"Yes sir." Sandra responds with respect.
"Hmm." He thinks for a moment. He goes to the door and on the door there is something that holds paper and a clipboard. He grabs the clipboard and writes in it. He turns to me afterwards.
"Okay, if you could stay still I need to check your vital signs." I didn't even realize I was shaking. I stand still, and he checks me. After a moment he motions me to follow him and I do. He leads me to a big machine.
"If you could lay in the machine please." He points to the machine. I lay in the machine and a couples minutes later he tells me "thank you" and to please return to my room.
When I get there I see the others there waiting. There is some more people too. A girl with blond short spiky hair, a girl with black medium length hair and side fringes and a girl with strawberry blond hair who's hair is cut into a Mohawk.
"Marri!" The girl with the strawberry blond hair runs to me and hugs me. "Are you okay?"
I stand there confused. "I. What? Wh-"
Sandra interrupts. "Uh, Kaitlynn. She can't remember any of us."
"What?" The girl named Kaitlynn responds in disbelief. "No, she has to remember me! I'm her best friend! We started this band together!" She turns to me, tears in her eyes. "Please! Tell me you know who I am!" She grips me tighter, Andy grabs her and pulls her away from me. James helps.
"I-I'm sorry. I don't know you." I respond, somehow and weirdly sad that I had said that.
All is quiet.
The other girls who I do not know realize what is going on. The one with black medium hair and side fringes approaches me.
"Maybe if we told you who we are you'll somehow recognize us." She looks to the others who respond with a face that says 'Try it yo.' She looks at me. "I'm Steph. I play bass in our band. We're in a band called 'Embrace The Broken' Kaitlynn over there who was freaking out just now, plays drums. Jay the one with blonde spikes in her hair plays Lead Guitar. You, are Marri. You sing and play rhythm guitar."
I look at her confused and well-informed. I point to myself "So I am a rockstar?"
"Yeah, I guess." James replies.
Just then the doctor comes in. "Okay, I took X-Rays and it seems that Marri has Amnesia. It's not permanent." There's sighs of relief over the fact that they will soon once again get their friend back. "However it probably will be like this for quiet sometime. She can leave in the morning. Speaking of morning, you can visit and help her pack up her things in the morning, it is currently-" he checks his watch. "7:58 pm visiting hours end at 8." There is groans and everyone says their goodbyes to me and leave. All except Sandra.
"Aren't you supposed to leave too?" I ask confused.
She closes the hospital door. "No, I have special permission to stay here. It was hard to convince them but I did. Good thing the doctor's daughter is a huge Black Veil Brides and Modern Day Escape fan." Sandra heads for the empty bed with the stuff on it next to. She casually laughs to herself.
"What's funny?" I ask.
"Nothing. It's just that I used to drum for Black Veil Brides and when I was in it we had a song called 'The Mortician's Daughter'."
"You used to drum for BVB?"
"Yeah, we went on tour with Modern Day Escape once before I left and their drummer left. I joined them after." Sandra says to me. Just then she gives me this odd look. She speaks up. "I remember this one time actually, Andy, You and I were at the beach splashin' each other with water and we realized we didn't have our towels so we went to buy some. Next to the place where we bought the towels, there was a toy store. Before we entered though, you said you had to pee and left to the bathroom. Andy and I we went in the toy store and thought we should scare you. We bought Hockey Masks, and plastic machetes. We put them on and when we went outside we saw you coming so we hid near these surfboards and when you came close we jumped out and you yelled 'fuck you! assholes!' and you were mad until you gave in and started laughing with us." Sandra laughs as she remembers this.
I look at her amused. Why do I feel incredibly comfortable around her? Sandra speaks up again, gets up and walks towards me.
"Actually I also remember this other time we were both so so soooo shit faced drunk and we thought it'd be funny to prank call someone. I don't know what it was but a part of me thought it was fucking genius to prank call my brother Noel. So I call him and he answers he's like "Sup?" and I say "Is your refrigerator running?" and we're both laughing way too hard and Noel he responds with "Sandra, I know it's you. There's a thing called 'Called I.D'." and we're both laughing way too hard and he ends up hanging up. Pretty funny now that I look back at it." Sandra laughs to herself even more.
Just then she has this face that she had just remembered something. This face that said 'AHA! OF COURSE!'.
She looks a bit shy. I don't see why she'd be awkward. However I can't help but notice her beauty when she's awkward. Out of nowhere, she leans in.
"Sandra what ar-" she cuts me off and her lips crash into mine. A feeling of sense and belonging overcomes me. A feeling of comfort, wonder, happiness and love overcome me.
Just then I see flashes of memories. I see a 14 year old girl asking her dad where he's going as the dad ignores her and leaves, never coming back. I see the same 17 year old girl come out to her mom and her mom kicking her out with nothing but the clothes on her back. I see the girl, now 19 in an apartment with some of her friends. I realize these friends, are Jay, Steph, and Kaitlynn. I see the girl now 20 meeting a girl. This girl is beautiful. She is the same age probably a bit younger then the 20 year old girl smiling at her. I see them getting together a couple months later and I see the beautiful girl confessing a dark secret to the 20 year old. She is shocked to find out, the young girl is a successful crook/hacker. She is somehow okay with finding out this. I see the girl now 22 signing a contract. In the corner of the paper I see the words 'Standby Records'. Months later I see the girl packing her bags into a van. The beautiful crook/hacker is there and hugs the 22 year old tightly and cries because she'll miss her. Days later I see the 22 year old turn around and I see a short but beautiful woman drinking beer who is obviously in her early 30's... I realize I am the 22 year old woman.
And then suddenly, I remember everything.
