One ~ Sunday Night Sights

Sunday

Calum Edwards

I am so... what's the word.. famished? Yes famished, or should I say, I'm so hungry? Or, I'm starving? Well whichever way you choose to say it, I really need to feed.

Its been about seventy-two hours since I last fed as you can see. I can go longer without quenching my thirst but tonight I chose not to.

The longer I go without feeding, my senses are heightened and the hunger gets stronger. The need to feed will start to control you. It can and will take you over.

But the older you are, the stronger you are. The stronger your will, will be. You will have more self control. But it's still dangerous if you don't feed for a long period of time. It's dangerous for the people around you.

There's a possibility that you might not be able to control your thirst and innocent civilians could wind up being the victims of your mistakes.

I myself have never lost control but there's always a first time for everything. I don't want to take any chances, that's why I make sure to feed at least every few days. A week at the latest.

There are others who don't have the same view as I do. Some that are not on the same page as I am. Some others of my kind have a more evil spirit than most.

Those are the ones you have to look out for. Those are the ones you have to keep away from your loved ones. They don't care who they hurt or kill. They just do whatever feels right to them at the moment.

They take joy in others pain and suffering. I am one of few that are still right in the head, that are still in tune with their human side.

The cool night air hitting my face distracted me and I couldn't help but smile at how wonderful it felt to fly under the night sky and the full moon that was shining so bright.

It was a lot better than the sun, it wasn't too bright. It felt great to be able to be outside without burning to a crisp. Even after all these years I still enjoy a good fly every now and then.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. A young girl was climbing over her balcony. She held on for a second. She was wearing a white night dress and her eyes were closed.

Why were her eyes closed? Why was she climbing over her balcony like she was about to ju-

Why were her eyes closed? Why was she climbing over her balcony like she was about to ju-

No.. she's going to jump. She let go of the railing and was falling to her death. I flew to her and caught her in the air, before she could hit the ground.

She was sound asleep as I held her against me. It seems as though that she didn't know what she had just done.

I looked down at her and couldn't help but admire her beautiful flawless skin and her strawberry blonde hair.

I was curious as to what the color of her mesmerizing orbs were. I'm sure they matched her beauty. She was breathing deeply and her heart was beating fast.

She snuggled closer to me and started to shiver. It was a crisp night.. for a mortal anyway. All of a sudden concerned for this beautiful girls well being, I flew up to her balcony and entered through the double doors.

I gently put her in her bed and covered her up. I pushed back some hair out of her face before leaving. I closed the doors as I walked out onto the balcony.

I jumped over the railing and landed on my feet. I decided to walk the rest of the way. I couldn't help the thoughts that kept invading my mind.

All of them were of her. Something was intriguing about her. She was quite beautiful and smelled so nice. She was mouth watering, but I could never hurt her, I would never hurt her.

I couldn't wait to look into those mesmerizing eyes. I couldn't wait to hear her angelic voice. Surely her personality was just as pure as she looked. I hope anyway.

It's been a very long time since a girl has caught my eye. I vowed to not care or love again, just so the ones I love don't get hurt and I have to live with my mistakes. It would be my fault if something happened to whoever I got close to.

I gave one last look towards her house before turning the corner. I will see you again my sweet. Until next time, I await to hear the soft melody of your voice.

How was the first chapter? Let me know. More to come and the upcoming chapters will be longer
