The whistle blows and a run to my teammates indulging them in a massive hug. we just won minor premiership, meaning we came first in our competition but finals start next week. Yep thats right I'm a soccer player, Under 15 ladies premier league one team. I have grown up playing soccer. Scratch that 'LIVING' soccer. My mum and dad both use to play and i would get up every morning to watch the Australian ladies soccer team. You can say I'm a quiet person, the only time i let out who i really am is in a game, with my mum, my gran or with my best friend Cassandra. My name is Elena and let's see how this story goes.
My team mates and i grab our bottles and head towards our family. My mum has long shifts at the hospital so my gran is here. She is always at my games and usually takes me home and to the game if it is far away from home. My dad? don't even ask
"Hey gran" i hug my reasonable fit 60 year old grandmother, i can see there resemblance inner an day mum, she is about average height with brown eyes and brown turning white short hair.
"Hey sugar. You played amazing" she hugs back then let's go
" Thanks but i wish i could move up a bit more"
"I know well at least you played midfield for a bit" my gran starts saying while walking to her old damson 260z
"Yeah but only for 5 minutes"
" You are the best sweeper there is" She tried to comfort me. I have been playing defence since i was a little girl but i have always had a passion for midfield, I'm not allowed o play though because in the soccer world there are heaps of midfield and not as many as defence, and since I'm a great defence i don't really have a say in where i play
"I know but I'm better in midfield" which is true.
"Well we don't always get what we want" she states turning on the car
" You're telling me" i sigh thinking about my dad
" Honey no one could of helped what happened with your dad"
"i know, i wish i could of said bye though"
" hm"
Whenever i mention dad with gran she doesn't say much but it never really looks like she is sad. You know we never had a funeral for him or anything it's like it never happened. Mum said they couldn't do anything since he was overseas on business. I just wish i could of said bye or left him on a better note. i shake my head riding of the memory. Gran says i have a mix of both my mum and dad. I have dark brown eyes like my dad and long dark brown hair like my mum. After my game gran took me for ice cream then dropped me off at home. The house is so quiet when there is no one home which is usually all the time. Mum works every day from 6:00am- 10:30pm, unless she covers someone's shift then she is gone for longer. On Friday, Saturday's and Sundays Mum is home by 8 so we can talk more then but still. Ever since dad died 4 years ago it's been hard on us. We have to be very careful about our money and i had to get a job at KFC. I have shift for 4 hours now so i quickly have a shower and get changed. I ride my bike to KFC and parked it out the back. I hate this job there is so much oil and grease and the boss is a dick but it pays well and i'm secure at this job. I walk to see my manager who is an even bigger bitch then the boss screaming at the new kid. Poor thing. I was put on register duty with the new kid.
"Hey" the new kid said when there was no one in line "my name is Alex"
"I can tell by the name tag, i'm Elena"
" how old are you?"
"I'm 15 how about you?" i smile he is a sweet kid
"14"
