4 | Ocean Blue

We walked into the filled classroom, everybody was already sitting at their table since the class started a few minutes ago. If this wasn't a great way to start off my first day, I didn't know what was *sarcasm intended*. Luckily I had Michael by my side.

Every single one of them was looking at us including the teacher, I could feel my anxiety kick in. I turned my head to face Michael, hoping that he'd comfort me, but he already had his eyes laid on me. "Don't worry, I got this." He said with a comforting voice and a creepy smirk. He better got this, I was not ready for detention.

"Sorry we're late Miss. Smith, Lydia was being stalked by a couple of boys who wanted her number, so I had to safe her." Michael said, trying REALLY hard to sound serious but failing miserably.

My eyes widened and I cringed "What the fuck Michael?" I looked him dead in the eye, why would he even say that?! "What are you, 5?!" I harshly said not caring if it would hurt his feelings.

Michael was just laughing and shaking his head in disagreement "Chill out Lydia, I was kiddi-" he was cut off by a raspy voice from somewhere in the back.

"Like someone would want THAT."

His words filled the dusty classroom and my body instantly solidified. My jaw slightly dropped as the words were being processed by my brain. I could feel my heart sting, even though I was used to insults like these. But my eyes, my eyes were searching for him just like everyone else was.

A few people started laughing, followed up by a couple of 'oh my gods'. As the wave of sounds became louder with the second, my ears intuitively muted the storm of grins and laughter that would soon break out into chaos.

I was rapidly scanning the room, in search of a guy with a confident smirk spread on his face, when our eyes locked. They were a beautiful shade of ocean blue mixed with a lake of frozen emotions, sparkling like storm clouds right before lightning hit -and this time, I'd been the victim-. Oh god I wanted to puke, why did this guy have such an effect on me? His golden locks were put into a marvelous quiff and his perfect nose was being illuminated by the sunlight. I spotted a jet black lip ring pierced into his lower lip, the color clearly matched his heart.

My eyes moved down to his arms where I spotted the illustrations that were forever marked on his skin with black ink. His appearance seemed so familiar to me but my mind couldn't make up where I knew him from. Maybe he was from tv? I was watching tv yesterday but I didn't seem to remember seeing someone like him. And trust me, if you'd see someone like him, you would remember. As I was sorting my memories trying to find out why he looked familiar, a sudden burst of realization hit me when I got a flashback from the time I stood on my balcony and saw a tall blonde figure making out with a girl. This guy couldn't be the same guy, that'd be impossible. Atleast, I didn't want it to be possible.

I felt my vision getting foggy from the tears that I was holding back. My eyesight went blurry and it was like everything was spinning. I wanted to run as fast as I could, but my legs were locked in place. Frozen. I was telling myself that I was overreacting, but my brain wasn't in the mood to listen and comfort me today.

The sounds around me became audible again and my eyes clicked on to Michael's. He looked at me in pity. "I'm sorry, Luke probably didn't mean that, just ignore him." He muttered while he tugged at the sleeve of my hoodie as a gesture that we should probably go sit down.

So that was his name, Luke. He was beautiful, but beautiful in a way a forest fire was beautiful. I wasn't going to be fooled by that, he was an asshole. He'd always be.
