Hello fellow people who have chosen to read this work in progress story. This is the second chapter of my work, and I hope you enjoy it!

The girl puzzled him. He didn’t know why, but she did. He had taken the chance to turn invisible when she was looking at the book he gave her, though he stood rooted to the spot. He watched her frown and then head to the counter to check out the book. When the girl left, he turned around to make sure nobody was watching and then re-appeared. Sergei wondered what he would say at the interview tomorrow. He could not say much that would reveal the majority of secrets that the Rifstejars had kept secret for many years. The book that he had read for possibly the twentieth time was the only book that held any valuable information about the Celestial War and the after information. The book was written by the famous author Milton Filler, whose great-great-great grandfather (Will Filler), was known for preserving old tales. One of Sergei’s many friends had a friend who knew Will Filler. They had often stayed in touch; Sergei’s friend would bring information to Sergei on what Will was writing and Sergei often had sent his friend back with the correct information. If anything, Sergei thought, he contributed over half the information on The Rifstejars in the book Will Filler wrote, but he did not mind not getting the credit.
Sergei exited the college library and headed off campus. He headed to the nearby Yellowsquare Park. He found walking in the park very calming to his mind; it gave him time to sort his thoughts out, and at the moment he needed to sort out two things: what he would tell the girl tomorrow and what to do with his apprentice Sepa. As Sergei entered the park he took notice of the silence that accompanied it, except for the occasional voice of the common bird. Humming to himself, Sergei began to stroll through the park at a fast but normal walking speed. When he got to his favorite spot, a bench placed by the beautiful silver water fountain in the center of the park, he sat down and pulled out his journal he wrote in about notes from the aftermath of the Celestial War. Notes he kept to himself.
There is a secret chapter that the Stejars do not know about. Many years after the Celestial War, when the Rifstejar’s population rose to a hundred people, there was inner turmoil between them. Nearly half of the Rifstejar did not want to use their power of evil. They merely wanted to live in peace with the Stejars. They always questioned where their true leader was; the top Rifstejar, Rowan, said that they were waiting for the opportune moment to free their boss. They were planning a spiritual break out. The Rifstejars who wanted to be good were named Mock-Rifs. The Mock-Rifs avoided doing the sinned tasks of stealing from the Stejars and fighting with them. Rowan remarked one day after the Mock-Rifs had been forced at death: “Even though I can’t make you, you will be forced to by our leader when he comes.” The ‘leader’ of the Mock-Rifs, Dean, had questioned what their ruler’s name was. The Rifstejars, however, would not provide the answer for they knew the Mock-Rids would rebel even further And as months passed, the tension in the Rifstejars rose even more-up to the point that one point, a Rifstejar stole a young girl from the Mock-Rifs during the night. The Rifstejar had put the girl on a boat and sailed her off to a place where Stejars lived.
Sergei shook his head and closed his journal book, putting it away in his jacket. He thought of publishing his notes in an article-he wanted the information to get out somehow that not all Rifstejar were bad. Sergei thought and conceded in giving the girl his information tomorrow at the library. She said she was writing an article; his information could be of importance. The girl-who was she? Sergei glanced at the azure sky, white clouds thin in the air. She had an aura that was not similar to the Stejars, and yet she was one. But there was no denying the small hidden spark he had seen in the girl-it made her different. Sergei told himself he would figure it out.
