Jacob's story

Jacob: When I was 8 I was with my mom and dad. We lived in a nice house.
Fawn: You never told me this.
Jacob: That's because you never asked about my past.
Kimmi looked at Jacob.
Kimmi: How did you become an orphan?
Jacob hesitated. Fawn grabbed his hand and looked up at his eyes, and smiled.
Jacob: One day when I was 10 my mom came home from work. My dad was in the shed doing something I don't know what. He never told me. My mom started to make dinner when my dad rushed into the house from the back door. He seemed scared. My mom asked what was wrong. He told us that we needed to leave. My mom wouldn't she was too stuborn. She wanted to know why. My dad said that there was no time to talk. He told me to hold his hand. I did. My mom still wanted an answer. She threw her towel on the floor and decided to come with him. We walked towards the door. My mom stopped and asked about clothes and other things. My dad said we could get all that back but not our lives. She thought he was going crazy and pulled me away from him. After that a man broke in through the window. I remember her screams. My dad put me behind him and I watched as he picked the man up and threw him like he was nothing. My mom ran to me and took me outside. She told me it was going to be ok. I looked behind her and saw another man. He shoved her to the ground and came at me. She got up and I watched her take him to the sky. She flew so high that I couldn't see her. She dropped him and he hit the ground hard. Another man came up behind me. He put his arm around my neck and I looked up to see my mom coming at me. She was screaming no as the man put his hands in the position that people do before they snap someone's neck. My dad broke his arm and held me in his arms. He gave me to my mom as a man came up behind him and stabbed him. I felt weak and my mom killed the man. After a week I wasn't the same. I ran away and went to a police station. I made up a story and said I was an orphan. After that I was put into an orphanage with Kimmi and fell in love with her. I discovered my powers a year later and Rosemarie taught me how to use them.
