Stacy P.O.V.

We'd just left the doctor's office, where they confirmed that I was indeed pregnant. We'd been warned that it was still early and anything could happen, especially with this being my first pregnancy. The doctor advised me what to do and what not to do. He told me what signs to look for should things go horribly wrong. That made me nervous and scared, but Kurt reassured me that he'd be with me every step of the way, so I needn't be worried. I was going to worry anyway, though. Everything was happening so fast. One minute I was living a boring existence and then a hurricane seemed to sweep through and stir everything up. I was afraid to blink for fear of what I'd miss. It wasn't lost on me that I'd recently been worried about how fast my dad's relationship with Sheila escaladed and now look at me.

We were currently headed to a downtown restaurant to meet my dad and Sheila. Kurt had wanted to go to their house to tell them the news, but I wanted a public place. My dad couldn't kill me or Kurt, for that matter, in a public place. Upon arriving at the restaurant I grew even more nervous, but Kurt squeezed my hand tight and pulled me inside. Dad and Sheila were already there. They waved and looked between Kurt and me, before settling on our joined hands. We sat across from them, but I couldn't meet their eyes.

"Well, this is a surprise." Sheila said smiling, while dad was frowning.

"Um, yes, we actually have to tell you, we, um..." I trailed off, chickening out.

Kurt interrupted, "Let's start with the fact that the day you introduced Stacy and I, at your house, Aunt Sheila, wasn't the first time Stacy and I had met."

"It wasn't?" Sheila asked, confused.

I shook my head, "No, we had actually met the night before. Gloria talked me into going out to a bar and that's where I met Kurt. We, um...we hit it off, instantly."

"We tried to have a one-night stand." Kurt blurted.

"Kurt!"

"What, you were beating around the bush and if we're going to finish this story this century then we might as well tell all." He argued.

"Fine, but it could have been done more gently than that. You made it sound so crude."

My dad suddenly interrupted, "Enough, Stacy, you better land your plane because I'm not liking how this story is going so far."

"I'm pregnant." I blurted.

Kurt snorted, "You thought that I needed to be more subtle and then you blurt it out like that?"

"Well, I panicked." I tell him and watch my dad closely.

Sheila had her hand over her mouth, but when dad remained quiet, she said, "Is that why you said, you tried to have the one-night? Now that there is a baby, you're forced into having more?"

I shook my head and Kurt said, "Well, not exactly. I think we conceived this baby on the morning after your wedding. When I said that we tried only one-night, I just meant that one-night wasn't enough. We couldn't stay away from each other. We tried. Well, Stacy tried. She didn't want anything to ruin your relationship, considering Stacy and I are now technically step-cousins."

"You'll get married immediately. I won't have my grandchild born out of wedlock." Dad suddenly lost his silence.

I sighed. I guess I should be happy that he wasn't throwing anything or threatening to castrate Kurt. That's why I'd wanted to keep things public, after all, to keep my dad under wraps. Then Kurt gave me whiplash when he agreed, "Yes sir."

"What? No, we won't. Kurt, I will not marry you just because dad is trying to force us. I won't marry you just because of this baby. If we get married, we'll do it on our own time." I tell him, ignoring how my dad was shaking his head, angrily.

"Stacy..." Kurt said my name softly and took both of my hands. He stood, kicked his chair back, and knelt on one knee. "Stacy, I want to marry you because I love you, not because I feel forced."

"Kurt, you don't have to do this. I promise. We can get married, some day, if that's what we decide to do, but I won't let my dad force it." I tell him, sounding desperate to my own ears. Seeing him on one knee brought tears to my eyes.

Kurt let go of one of my hands and reached into his pocket, pulling out a small velvet box, "Stacy, I'm not doing this because of your dad or the baby or anyone. I bought this ring last week, before we even knew about the baby. Will you marry me?"

I gasped as he flipped the box open, revealing a gorgeous engagement ring. I couldn't believe this was happening. A little over a month ago, I had been resistant to my father's upcoming nuptials. Then I'd met this gorgeous man before me and we'd entered what was supposed to be a one-time affair, but had turned into so much more. Did I mention that I couldn't believe this was happening? If anyone had said that I could fall completely, hopelessly, in love with someone in such a short time, I would have told them they were insane.

"Stacy, answer the boy." Dad prodded, with a smile.

I gasped, realizing I'd left Kurt hanging for longer than necessary, "Oh gosh, yes, Kurt. I will marry you. I love you so much!"

"I love you too." Kurt told me, while slipping the ring onto my finger and then he kissed me for all of the world to see. Well, all of my world anyway. I couldn't care less what anyone else thought. I'd found my dream man, I was going to have his baby, but first I was going to become his wife.
