I take a breif glance back and then realize that the guy isn't following Kyle and I, and that he is actually staggering in the opposite direction. I stop running and let's out a sigh of relief, slightly pulling on Kyle's hand, alerting Kyle that the man isn't trying to follow us.
"Thanks for saving me back there" I say panting.
"No problem" replies Kyle as he glances down at our entwined hands. A blush ignites both Kyle and I's cheeks. He pulls his hand away and then shoves both his hands in his jean short pockets.
We walk the rest of the way to fabricland in silence. After 5 minutes of being in fabricland Kyle started bugging me to hurry up so we could leave and go home before it gets late and the sun sets. I quickly bought the fabric I need and then we start walking to my apartment. It was about a 45 minute walk, it was still quite sunny out but it wasn't warm.
"So are you going to the dance?"asks Kyle averting his eyes to the ground the second I glance at him.
" I don't know." I admit.
"Well ummm..." Kyle pauses for a second glancing at me for a split second be for returning his gaze to the ground. "has anyone asked you?"
Kyle blush's a furious shade of red.
Oh my gosh. Is he gonna ask me I wonder excitedly as the butterfly's that were fluttering in the pit of my stomach evolve into hundreds of tiny dragons.
"No..." I say shyly as I feel my cheeks heat up as well.
Damn were both blushing alot.
"Oh" says Kyle.
I wait for him to say something else but after a minute I realize he's not gonna.
I was stupid to even think he might ask me to the dance we're just friends anyway he doesn't like me that way anyways. Maybe I should just move on.
A sudden gust of wind blew by causing a shiver to run down my spine. I try to hide it but Kyle saw right away. Without saying anything he takes off his baggy green zip up hoodie. And wraps it around my shoulders. He leaves his arm resting on my shoulder for just a second to long making me think once again that maybe we could be something more and that's when I realize I won't be able to move on from him unless I know for sure he doesn't think of me that way. There's no way I'm asking him though at least not today. I smile at Kyle and slip my scrawny muscle less arms through the sleeves of his extremely soft and comfy hoodie.
After another few minutes of walking the growing silence between us starts to get awkward.
"Sooooo have you asked anyone to home coming" I interrogate.
"Nah" says Kyle waving a hand at me.
"Are you going to ask anyone?"
"Maybe" said Kyle awkwardly with a grin that said I know something you don't know.
"Who?" I ask now curious and slightly disappointed.
"It's a secret" replies Kyle teasingly.
"Oh come on you always tell me this stuff" I say faking a smile.
"Not this time" Kyle teases me.
Kyle and I talk about nothing in particular the rest of the way to my apartment.
"Well I guess I'll see you at school." I say as we arrived at my apartment entrance. "Thanks for coming with me."
"No problem " said Kyle. "see you later" Kyle turned around and started to walk away.
