Calm before the Storm

The next morning Angel woke up as giddy as a school girl. Phoenix was awake basting in her beauty. What was 1 of the saddest days of her life, was also 1 of the best. Which is sad considering it topped her wedding day.

She kissed him and went to the bathroom. Then Angel decided to make breakfast. James stood in the hall taunting Taylor.

James; now Taylor, I know I didn't Just see Felix in there?

Angel lol; who? Oh Phoenix. Yeah but nothing happened.

James; that's apparent by your apparel. You still wearing your dress from yesterday and I'm the 1 that start calling him Phoenix. He was Felix to you.

Angel; well that Phoenix done ignited something in me.

James; Damn girl. You as sprung as you was in middle school. Look more like he reignited it.

Phoenix; my ears are burning.

Angel froze hoping that Phoenix had not heard her. Phoenix walked over and kissed her on the forehead. Then he asked, " is there anything I can help you with?"

Angel; as a matter of fact it is. You can go sit down with my brother and let me do something for you for once.

Phoenix made his way to the sofa. James sat channel surfing. James passed a church program but kept going.

Angel completed breakfast and they all ate. During breakfast Phoenix asked if he could attend church with them. James laughed and Angel moped.

Angel had not been to church since early in her marriage. When things start going south they stop going. Despite her grandfather wishes she had not been back.

James had stop long before. As soon as his parents stop making him go, he just stop going. He believed in God but was living the street life.

Phoenix himself had not been in a while. After he got with Vanity, they partied all Saturday night and spent Sundays recovering. He'd never even took his child before.

As Phoenix looked at Angel, he knew it was time for a change. He told them that they all needed to get back in to church. Each of their lives went south when they got comfortable with not going.

It had been a long weekend so they did not go that day. However, Angel and Phoenix planned to go the following Sunday. James still was not convinced.

Phoenix went back to his hotel to get ready for work Monday. He considered inviting Angel but was not sure if she was truly interested or if it was a momentary thing. Plus he wanted to take his time with her. He rushed things with Vanity and now they hardly talk unless it pertains to their child.

The work week started off well. Taylor was assigned to show Felix around. Day 1 was just him getting to know the hospital. His partner still hadn't arrived so it was just the 2 of them.

Any point they got alone Felix found himself flirting and was he even feeling on Taylor. She liked it so much she kept leading him to small empty areas. Soon this escalated to making out. In closets on like every floor. At 1 point clothes began to come off. Felix was so hot and ready, but did not bring protection not anticipating this.

They both laughed and continued to tour a little more cooled off. May passed them a few times. She noticed Taylor smiling like never before.

After the tour they had lunch together. They went to a nearby deli. During the meal they talk about what is going on between them.

Taylor giggling; so you can't keep your hands off me huh?

Felix blushing; sorry. Since the other day all these feelings came flooding back...

Taylor; back!? You felt this strongly before?

Felix; well... I never forgot you. We were so young. I don't know what I was feeling, but I always wondered.

Taylor smiling; wondered what?

Felix; what if? What if I never left? Where would we be now?

Taylor; really? Me too.

They both just set smiling at each other until the food arrived. After eating they held hands on way back. The rest of the work day they didn't see each other much. Fortunately, their shift ended at the same time.

Phoenix; hey Angel! May I escort you out tonight?

Angel giggling; you so corny. Yes. Yes you may.

Phoenix took her out to a movie. They watched a romantic comedy. He bought popcorn and drinks. Angel was surprised and stunned. Phoenix was taking things slower. He held her hand but was taking it slow. No kissing or nothing.

Then they went out to a romantic candle lit dinner. Phoenix order for Angel. They had a bottle of champagne and shared a cheesecake for dessert. While Phoenix held her hands and starred in her eyes but still no intimate touching outside of that.

The night rounded out with a horse drawn carriage to his hotel. Inside was a dark room.  He crept in lighting candles placed around the room. Angel stood in the door in awe.

Phoenix grabbed her hand and guided her to the bed. He took her coat and hung it in the closet. Then he presented her with a towel and pointed to the bathroom. She stared dumbfounded a second. Phoenix pulled out some heated massage oil. Angel giggled and made her way to the bathroom.

Angel came out and he helped her lay down. Phoenix poured a little hot oil on her back. She moaned as he began rubbing it in. He climbed up and rubbed her shoulders.
