Piggyback Rides

     Team seven met up at the village gates, along with teams eight, nine, and ten. When everyone was ready, the gennin and their senseis started the long trek to the camp sight.

    Naruto p.o.v

      I'm so glad I am out of that village, even just for a week.
I wonder what our camp sight will look like, or who I'll share a tent with. I hope it's not Kiba, I can't deal with two sets of snores. Choji's a good guy but I don't want crumbs in the-
A sharp pain in my ankle and a loud POP interrupted my thoughts and I yelled out in pain, falling over on my side.
The pain was almost unbearable. Almost. I could make out faint voices and hazed figures standing above me. Dark spots danced in my vision and everything went black.

3rd Person p.o.v

Ino huffed. "It's just like Naruto. Not paying attention and getting himself into trouble. Did he even hear Kurenai-sensei say to watch out for that hole!?"
Shikamaru sighed. "Troublesome blondes."
"Hey!" Ino screamed a tick mark appearing on her forehead.
Kurenai threw a concerned glance at Naruto. "We are going to stop for a short break."
"I-Is N-Naruto-k-kun going t-t-to b-be all r-right?" Hinata asked quietly, shifting nervously.
Kurenai gave a reassuring smile. "I'm sure he will be fine."
Lee had flames in his eyes while pumping his fist in the air. "YOSH!! His flames of youth burn brightly, he will be a splendid ninja!"
"I don't want my time with Sasu- I mean this camping trip to be ruined because of that baka!" Sakura yelled.
"Hn."

Kakashi had lifted Naruto of the trail and propped him against a tree (sadly noting that the boy was underweight), looking over Naruto's ankle. He gingerly slipped the shinobi sandal off of the vessel's foot, receiving a whimper of pain in response from Naruto.
The heal and ankle were already turning a sickly purple-yellow color. The area around the ankle was swelling up like a balloon. It was definitely sprained and badly at that. He wouldn't be able to walk for at least two days even with the kyuubi's enhanced healing.
The other three jonin joined Kakashi as he was wrapping the blonde's foot, using medical tape and a stick to make a makeshift brace.
Asuma blew out a puff of smoke thoughtfully. "With an injury like that, I wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't walk for the rest of the camping trip."
Gai shook his head. "It would be very unyouthful if he were to sit out during all of the wonderful activities!"
"Should we reschedule the trip?" Kurenai asked not taking her eyes off the blonde boy.
Naruto groaned as his eyes fluttered open. "Ugh. What happened?"
Kakashi eye smiled. "You sprained your ankle after accidentally stepping in a hole."
Asuma sighed. "It's bad kid. I don't think we can continue the-"
Naruto launched forward, eyes wide. "What!! No! I can't go back to the village right now. I mean I don't want to cancel the trip."
This was his only chance to get away from the fox hunt. He couldn't blow it just cause of some sprained ankle. Worse would happen if the villagers found him, and now that he was injured, his chances of escaping were slim.
"I'm okay, see." He assured as he attempted to stand. Pain shot up though his leg, almost making him black out from pain, again."Aargh!"
                 He fell back down on his butt, against the tree. He cursed under his breath.
"No, you clearly aren't okay." kakashi sighed and turned to Asuma. "Go tell the others that the trip is off."
"NO! No no no no no!"
Asuma turned to Naruto. "And why's that kid?"
'Crap!' was the only thought running through the blondes head. "Umm. Uh, because everyone's excited to go on the trip? I'll be fine. You can't cancel the trip because of a little sprained ankle. We are shinobi, we are ninjas. We've fought wars, damnit! No injury can keep me down. My name is Naruto Uzumaki and I will be Hokage. Believe it!" 'Nailed it!'
Kakashi cut in. "As motivational as that was, your still injured."
Gai slapped Kakashi on the back, hard. "Aww, come on Kakashi. Let the camping trip continue. We can not let these young shinobi's flames of youth diminish!" Gai finished with a nice guy pose, teeth sparkling and everything.
"I guess that would be unfair to the others." Kakashi sighed. "The trip will continue, but if you ankle gets any worse, your going strait to the hospital."
                     Naruto's face lit up. "Really! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
Kakashi then evilly smirked. "The only problem is you can't walk, someone's going to have to carry you and I have just the person in mind."
The copy cat ninja turned to where the rest of the gennin were sitting chatting and eating snacks. "Ohhhh Sasuke, could you come here for a moment, please."
