All was peaceful in the village hidden in the leaves. Everyone was going about their daily routine, including team seven and their never punctual sensei.
Team seven, excluding their sensei, was waiting for said sensei.
"Sasuke-kun~ would you like to go to the festival with me?" Batting her eyelashes and twirling her hair on her finger, Sakura asked the avenger on a date for what seemed like the 50th time that week.
Her reply was silence and for what seemed like the 50th time that week she was turned down. Expecting Naruto to offer a date to her she turned around, ready to turn him down.
"No, Naruto. For the last time I only have eyes fo-" She cut herself off when she noticed the blonde a couple meters away sitting under a tree, starring off into space and most importantly not asking her on a date.
"Sasuke-kun I think something's wrong with Naruto."
"Hn. The dobe does seem off."
There was a poof of smoke and there sensei appeared. "Yo."
"YOUR LATE!" Sakura screamed but it seemed useless without Naruto to back her up.
Noticing this everyone turned to look at the blonde.
Still off in his own world, Naruto was thinking of ways to avoid this years fox hunt during the kyuubi festival, which was in two days and approaching fast.

Naruto p.o.v

'I could ask the old man to send me on some easy mission outside the village, though I've never been outside the village. That could pose as a problem. Maybe the villagers won't hunt me down now that I'm a ninja. But just to be safe I shou-'
"Naruto!"
"Huh?" 'Was that Kakashi-sensei. I didn't realize he was here yet.'
"Dobe, pay attention."
"Hey! I was!" No I wasn't.
"Naruto, we've been calling your name for the past ten minutes. Are you okay?" Sakura asked putting a hand out to help me up.
Time to put on this mask of stupidity and obnoxiousness. But the villagers would rather have a stupid demon than a smart one, so I guess I have no choice.
Putting on the biggest smile I could muster I grabbed Sakura's hand. "Ya, I'm fine!" I said in a cheery voice when, in fact, I was not fine. I was the total opposite of fine. I was horrible, desperately trying to avoid the next week because it would bring nothing but trouble and I did not a repeat of last year or I wouldn't be walking for weeks, even with the kyuubi's healing factor.
Kakashi-sensei eye smiled. "I'm glad to hear because I wouldn't want you missing the camping trip." Camping trip?
"What camping trip Kakashi-sensei?" Sakura asked.
"Why the camping trip we are going on along with teams 8, 9, 10. We leave in an hour and there's no getting out of it, so go pack your things." He answered still eye smiling at us, then with a poof he was gone.
This was perfect. I'll be out of Konoha camping and far, far away from that damned festival. Wait! But if I have another nightmare or panic attack the others might think something is up. I did not want to loose my friends and teammates if they found out I was the vessel of the kyuubi. I would loose all the progress I made in being acknowledged and I'd be all alone again. They could not, under any circumstances, find out.
