(A/N I know she's slapping Steve in the gif but can we just pretend it's not please!)
Rileys phone chimed signalling the end of Noah Fosters in depth rant about the age of social media and human desire to share the things we love, from the dust ridden chair in the 3rd row a small squeak erupted, Nancy was spooked her recent conclaves with the Lakewood Slasher, which social media had ever so uncannily crowned them as, had made her every move conscientious,
"Riley, phones off"
Yet another one of Nancy Belmonts day dreams- or daymares ripped from her skull by the ever lasting school day, Mr Branson's voice seemed to be one of an automated robot drilling his way in to Nancys head before Riley could speak
"Sorry Mr. B, my friend from St. Mary's texted. A girl that goes there died"
That was all Audrey had to hear, yet Rileys voice was soft with sympathy it seemed to rattle Audrey, Nancy did know that the short haired girls female lover attended that school, there was a slim chance that Racheal could be the girl dead, but then again this is Lakewood, there is a killer and there is no way anyone would survive with a slim chance.
"How'd she die"
Bam! Jake Fitzgerald back at it with his abnormal sexiness and annoying tendency to show no affection. Ever. I mean Jake had his abundance of teenager girls from freshman to seniors, the high school kind, that would wobble at the knees at the sight of his dark, dangerous features but everyone could see that the immature boy was whipped for the small brunette girl with blue eyes that sat exactly half a meter away from him in every class but history where she was basically sitting on top of him, not that he minded. Obviously.
"Jake! Don't ask that, it's rude"
For the first time in days Nancy had spoke, she still looked behind her hoping to see Steve Harrington's face sitting then wearing his green bomber jacket and admiring Jake so he could copy him like he always did, instead she saw his face mauled his clothes drenched with blood just like he looked when Nancy saw him, dead and very much gone.
"She's dead Emma!"
A loud pounding was heard against the tin lockers confined together in the hall, Emma Duvall, one of the few immaculate people left in Lakewood had attempted to reassure the gothic teen over the death of her female lover however this seemed to shoot right back in her face, like watching gossip girl Nancy thought, a grey cloud seemed to disguise its self as Nancys shadow following her until her tracks collided with a rather muscular physique
"Hey Nance! Just the kid I was looking for!"
"Jake, I'm not a child."
The two seemed to squabble every time they were together, the pair of them were so madly in love that it turned to a competition of who could get more attention of the other, unfortunately Nancy caught herself staring at Jake more times then she wished putting him in the lead; they had a bond, but a single spark could ignite the competitor in each of them
As the pair began to part ways an older senior boy approached Nancy, her timid personality seemed to crawl up to her throat making her choke on her own words,
"Hey Queeny! Find any dead bodys yet? It's 2pm!"
Nancys initial reaction was to run however this was a new day and a new day brought along a new girl, Nancy strode up to the towering boy with her confidence dripping from her small silhouette, brutally connecting her hand with the acne ridden face of his, she smiled cockily at him as she walked away earning a high five and a very low jaw drop from her very one cheerleader, Jake Fitzgerald.
"He was a jerk"
"That was so hot!"
"You're irritating me!"
"You're beautiful"
"You want something?"
"Do I?"
"You're frustrating!"
"Sexually?"
The bickering had lead them outside Jakes car, now that Racheal was dead Nancy didn't seemed to think her day could get any worse, boy was she wrong as Jake began to drive her to her house a certain aroma erupted from the floor of the car, almost as if it were rotting. Smoke was emitted from the black truck and the pair stepped outside, both silently warning each other about the bottom of the car, in unison the two bent over gradually letting their eyes meet the first world problem they were faced with. An oil leak.

Y'all probably hate me, shorter chapter today decided to relieve a little tension so the characters could bond, I'm debating wether I should push Nancy and Jakes relationship or carry it on, I feel like it's going no where, tell me you're ideas❤️❤️
