Riley's funeral took place on a cold Sunday morning and it knocked every ounce of light out of Nancy Belmont, this was her second funeral in the time frame of a month and knew she would become even more familiar with the Lakewood cemetery and its unusually beautiful exterior. Riley's house seemed empty despite the abundance of people gathered in mourning.
The girls had not realised the effect this had on the male population of their friendship group. Will and Jake mourned separately due to their current position, however Nancy had invited Jake to sit next to her during the service, showing him the smallest glimmer of hope a girl could give and he was more than happy with that.
The service was beautiful, exactly how she would have wanted it. Will had gone over to Emma making sure his girlfriend was okay, Audrey and Noah held each other close as the casket was rolled out of the room. Brooke spent time with her father who made it a personal errand to make an appearance today, leaving Nancy to choose between Jake and Kieran.
"How are you holding up?"

Jake pondered the message he had received last from the killer there was no catch to the insidious comment just a demand. He wouldn't help the killer even if his life depended on it, Nancy would never forgive him if he had aided this monster in attacking her or her friends. Nancy was yet to realise she was the key part of the killers end game, however she knew that the next time she woke up would be her 18th birthday, her death day, as the carving on her back gladly reminded her.
"Nance, you should really stop looking at it..."
Will reassured his twin that nothing was going to hurt her on the day she had been looking toward to for months, he helped her redress the wound and kissed her head softly. The countdown seemed slow, the once sarcastic and brave Nancy was no longer she was now fragile and scared of her own breath.
"Will.. I know I shouldn't but I just want tomorrow to be spent with our friends. If I'm going to die I don't want to be alone.."
He nodded and sent a small smile her way, Their birthday party had been something Brooke had been planning for months, she was excited as the youngest of the group where finally going to be 18. Nancy had a rough start to life, being born hours after her brother and their father only really caring for his new basketball star she spent a lot of her time on her own and spending every spare second connected to her twin.

"Happy birthday Will! I love you numbnut!"
Nancy had woken her brother up early that morning, she was small enough to not create a dent in his bed as she brought his favourite strawberry covered waffles to him in his room. She smiled at him, her eyes their usual bright blue shade as he held a small blue box in her hands. He opened it to reveal an expensive looking silver watch. He stared at the accessory as tears began forming in his eyes.
