I edge out of the airport and step onto Melbourne ground.
There were lots of taxis waiting to collect people from the airport, we didn't know which taxi was ours so we jump into the closest one.
I fasten my seatbelt before resting my head against the window.
It was going to be a long journey so I put my earphones in and focus on what was going on outside.
I saw a sign for a beach and smiled.
There were no beaches near where I used to live, so this was all new to me.
The sun was beaming down on us and I lean back and relax.
My mind was racing with so many different thoughts, so I decide to focus on the lyrics of the song to help me calm down.
I notice houses here were a lot bigger than all the ones back in the uk and they just look so much nicer.
All the houses in my old town just look worn down and neglected, unlike here where people take pride in their home.
I saw a group of girls walking along the path.
I make eye contact with one of the girls and smile, she mimics my action.
I feel like this is where I belong.
Just before we reach my house I spot a small park with families sat together laughing.
Wow it's just so nice here.
We reach our gate which is quickly opened as we reach our drive way, I can't stop myself from jumping out of the car so quickly and running up to the door of the house.
"Throw me the keys!" I shout to my mum with excitement.
She chucks the keys and I catch them before swiftly unlocking the door and running inside.
I Spin in a circle, dazed at the sight of the house, it was so beautiful.
Much nicer than anything we could have got back home.
I sprint up the stairs, giggling to myself as I run in and out of each room.
I reach the last room as I slow down, it was so pretty it had a gorgeous view of the garden. I strolled over to the window and open it, to let some fresh air In, before turning around to face my new room.
It only had a wardrobe in, I couldn't wait for my furniture to arrive so I could decorate it.
I drop one of my bags on the floor before going back down the stairs to help my mum with hers while she pays the taxi driver.
I can't stop myself from smiling.
I leave her bags in the biggest room, she deserved the best and I was going to make sure of that.
Back downstairs I go, 'god I'm knackered' I think to myself.
Wandering around downstairs I spot my mum in the garden. Stood next to the pool? We had a pool? Since when?
"Mum I didn't know we had a pool" I say shocked.
"Neither did I" She laughed as I walk over to her.
"It's really hot here" I chuckle
" I know how to cool you down" she laughs before pushing me strips hot into the pool but I grab her hand and take her in with me.
We both come up from underneath the water as I run my hands through my hair, we burst into fits of laughter, as we splash eachother.
I hadn't laughed this much for ages.
I quickly clamber out of the pool and shiver.
"It's freezing" I scream and laugh.
I help my mum out of the pool and she grabs some towels.
We soon dry off.
"Should we go out for lunch? My treat!" She says eagerly.
I nod in excitement as we slip on our shoes and run out the door.
We follow the small amount of sign posts towards the town centre, making small conversation along the way, but mainly enjoying each other's company.
"Where should we go?" She asks.
I look around hoping to see something appealing, and to my luck I spot a small Italian restaurant on the corner of a busy street.
"How about bottelinos" I say referring to the restaurant.
"Okay" she agrees.
We walk through a small crowd towards the Italian place, before walking through the worn down doors, into a very welcoming atmosphere.
"Hello table for 2?" The waitress asks politely.
"Yes please" my mum replies
"Right this way"
We follow the waitress to the back of the restaurant In a quiet, cosy corner in which there were no children to annoy us.
"Thank you" I smile at the waitress to show my gratitude.
I take a seat on the soft chair before picking up the menu as my eyes scan the writing, straight away I spotted what i wanted. Pizza. As always. I mean who goes to an Italian restaurant and doesn't get pizza?
Well my mum for one, she chose carbonara.
We place our orders and as we are waiting I sip on my coke.
"Mum, what if I don't make friends here" I say my thoughts from earlier rushing back.
"Honey don't worry about that, you're a lovely person I'm sure you'll make lots of great friends" she says.
"I really hope so" I say looking down.
Before my mum could reply the waitress walks over and places our food in front of us.
I lick my lips, wanting to eat it straight away, but holding back and using my manners I wait until the waitress had left us.
I eat the pizza quicker than anything, I didn't realise how hungry I was, I must have been so distracted all day that I didn't notice.
After a while me and mum head out and do some shopping, the town was nice and friendly.
I hope all of Melbourne is like this.
