The next few days went slow, I was just waiting for a reply from the modelling agency that I applied for.
I was obsessed with refreshing my emails to check for an answer, but 3 days and still nothing.
I start to lose hope in getting that job. I had applied for many and I'd got a few replies but those jobs were like working in shops, nothing I had real interest in.
I continue with life, just taking each day as they came. I'd never not know what to do. I'd always had a plan or at least an idea but now I had my eyes set on being a model everything else just went out of my interest.
I want this job. I need this job.

The 4th day came along and I hear my mum shout me, so I plod down the stairs towards the computer where I found my mum.
"Yeah?" I say getting quite frustrated.
"Look!" She says rather excitedly pointing at the screen.
I lean in closer and stare blankly at the computer.
"Dear Megan

We are excited to inform you that you are welcome to come to the open day at our modelling agency in Melbourne on the 26th August.
We would be rather thrilled if you could make it to us!

We look forward to seeing you very soon!
Yours sincerely
Mr Buckley.

What just happened?! Did I just get welcomed to an open day at my dream company!!!!
My mum grabs me and hugs me. I'm jumping up and down with excitement but also nerves.
"Wait, the 26th? That's in 10 days? How are we going to get over there?" I say anxiously.
"We don't have a choice, we are going no matter what!" She states.
Me and my mum spend the next few minutes dancing around the living room in excitement.
It's actually happening, I'm going to Melbourne!
My mum quickly runs into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, she is clearly British, while I just crack open the can of coke which I had bought earlier.
I didn't want to eat or drink because I was so excited for the future, but it's me so of course I'm going to eat.
Me and my mum both agreed that we should probably start looking for a place to stay and a flight over to melbourne.
I run into the kitchen grab a bowl out of the top cupboard and pour some of my favourite sweet popcorn into it. I then run back into the living room to join my mum.
We sat on the computer for a few hours, just looking at houses.
They were all too expensive, too run down, or just not our taste, but eventually we spotted a nice house that was just put on sale, it was perfect, it had a beautiful garden, 3 large bedrooms, a large kitchen which is so much better than what we have now, and the price was reasonable!
"Mum that house is gorgeous!" I say with excitement clear in my voice.
"Yes,yes it is, but the problem is we don't have time to go and view it! I think we will have to take a risk and buy it" she says quite nervous about the whole idea.
"It will all be fine mum, trust me" I say softly.
"Yeah I guess so, we better get our house on the market, we need it to sell and fast" she suggests.
"Yes we do but first I think we should call the owners of this house and confirm everything"
My mum swiftly picks up the phone and dials the number that is on screen, it goes straight to the estate agents and we explain our situation.
They make a few quick phone calls to the owner of the house, before they confirm that the house is now ours! (Once all the paperwork has gone through of course)
They were quite shocked at our eagerness but at the same time I think they understand why we were so desperate for this house. We then continued searching online for a flight over there at a reasonable price which we thought would be difficult to find, considering the short notice but straight away we found a cheap flight for 5 days time and a company to ship all our furniture over.
"Hey let's order pizza for dinner, my treat" my mum smiles sweetly.
"Awh yes that would be nice" I smile back.

The pizza soon arrives and me and my mum sit watching a film together, I knew it would be hard for my mum to move far away from family and friends, and also to leave this house behind.
We had so many memories in it, but I'm sure we will make even better ones in our amazing new house.
I wonder what the future has in store for me.
