**Emma's POV**

The next day had begun and the plan was going down in just a few hours. I couldn't help but worry something bad would happen. I decided I need to take matters into my own hands and tell Ryland myself. I drove over to the Lynch's and was greeted with a surprised Ross. He pushed me up to his room, and closed the door. I was already worried.

"Why are you here?" Ross asked.

"I think I just need to tell him myself. It'll be so much easier and I thought why not now. The sooner the better." I responded to be shoved downstairs where Ryland was playing a video game. I sat down next to Ryland hoping things wouldn't get awkward, but of course they did.

"We need to talk." I spoke looking him right in the eye.

"You're right. We do need to talk." Ryland spoke looking like he already knew what was happening.

"I don't think we should go out any more. I don't want you to get upset, but I'm with your brother, Ross, now. Please don't be mad at me and especially him. He had nothing to do with my decision. I love him and every minute I'm not with him, I feel alone. It's not you, it's me." I spoke as if I didn't want to say it. It was the easiest way though.

**Riker's POV**

I walked downstairs to see Ratliff at the door. He came charging for me and I did my best to move. I knew he was stronger than me, but it wasn't like I wasn't gonna try not to get hurt. But after a while of trying, it all went black.

I was really confused. Why was Ratliff here? What happened?

"Are you okay?", Bari sincerely asked.

"I'm sure he's fine." Ratliff obviously didn't care about me.

"Say something" Bari looked worried

"something" I quickly spoke.

"Thank god you're okay. I was so worried about you. Give me a few minutes and then I'll help you right away", Bari spoke and went off.

**Bari's POV**

"What the heck do you think you were doing? You had no reason to punch him." I didn't really know what to say, but I knew that I had to protect Riker.

"I think I had reason enough. I thought we were dating. Obviously you feel differently." Ratliff was really angry.

"I was gonna tell you but, you showed up first. I swear" I really didn't want to focus on Ratliff. I needed to put my energy into Riker. He actually cared for me, and understood everything I said to him. I continued to chat with Ratliff, "besides, it's not like you cared for me. You asked me a really important question and then just left me stranded there. You didn't even care to stay and hear my answer."

"Well you obviously would have said no, so there was really no point in staying." Ratliff responded just arguing and arguing with me.

"Actually I was gonna say yes, but that's your loss now. I'm with Riker now and I couldn't be happier." I said pushing Ratliff out the door and closing it right behind me. I ran over to Riker. I couldn't believe Ratliff would do such a thing. And to think I had feelings for him. Riker obviously cared for me more than anybody I had ever met.

**Riker's POV**

I heard the door slam close and saw Bari rushing toward me. What had just happened? Wasn't Ratliff here? I was so confused.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Bari kept asking over and over again

"Yeah, I'm fine. But I'm a little confused. What happened to me? You know besides for the fact that I got punched in the eye." I answered. I just wanted answers.
