It all began on the night of December 31st 2012. I was on a New Years Eve party with my college friends, at a club. The music was loud and everyone was drinking, dancing and talking. I was in the middle of the room with a couple of friends. Our bodies were following the rhythm of the echoing tunes, our senses slightly clouded by the alcohol in our system.

When the music stopped the crowd ooed as if thirsty for more and that’s when he caught my eye. I had never seen him before, but then again, I wasn’t used to going out regularly.

With his hand spiking his rebel hair and his foot against the wall, he looked extremely sexy and mysterious. He had a drink in his hand and was bouncing back and forth along with the beat. He never acknowledged my presence, he was too far away, but just by looking at him I was already getting goosebumps all over my body.

I realized then I was looking at him for a long time and I wasn’t dancing. So I started talking to my friends again and went back to swaying my body from side to side along with the pulse. However, I kept glancing at him every chance I got.  One of the times our eyes met and I immediately looked away.

After a while, my friends decided to go get something to drink and I was left in the middle of the dance floor, alone. I glanced at the stairs again, only this time he was no longer there.

‘Hello,’ a raspy voice called from behind me. When I turned around I noticed it was him. I couldn’t bring myself to answer.

‘Know what happens to girls that stare at me for a long time,’ he continued and I was scared that he knew what I was doing.

‘They end up falling for me. Hard,’ he whispered with a smirk and I laughed nervously. His face was extremely close to mine.

‘Will you fall in love with me?’ he asked, eyeing me curiously as I swallowed hard.

‘I am not like most girls,’ I finally brought myself to speak. He never broke the gaze.

‘Of course not…’ he said sarcastically and I shifted uncomfortably, searching for my friends. He then grabbed my hand and pushed me closer to him.

‘I want to dance. With you,’ he demanded and at first I tried to stand still. My instinct advised me to push him away but he was obviously stronger than me so that would lead nowhere. But I fought for some seconds until I finally allowed his arms to hold me in place, and for the next two songs, we danced closely to each other, our hipbones converging. When the music stopped his mouth made its way to my neck and his lips brushed along the sensitive skin making me dizzy. His bold actions took me by surprise.

Without a warning he started heading towards the door. He was not inviting me to join him but for some reason I found myself following his footsteps. I knew I shouldn’t leave the party. I came with my friends and we were supposed to stay together till midnight. But his behaviour somehow sent fire through my veins and I just wanted to see where he was planning to go. I despised the fire alarms my mind kept sending me as I went on my way.

He never looked back so I thought he didn’t know I was coming too. He kept striding and only stopped when he reached his car, a black Volvo. He opened the passenger door and looked behind. A restrained smile appeared on his lips when he saw me.

‘I won’t murder you,’ he remarked but I was still shaking. I entered the car and he closed the door for me. Once he sat by my side, he started the engine. He drove at the fastest speed I had ever experienced for over an hour. But I was too scared to ask him where we were going. When the car stopped, we were on the edge of a cliff.
