Chapter 3

The windows of his car was open so I can feel my hair is blown by the wind. One of the reasons why I love Cordova is the fresh air compared to Manila. I like this feeling. I feel so free because I've been stuck in my house for how many years already. I haven't tried exploring the things outside. Though my lola used to bring me to her flower shop near the city.
I felt his car slowly stop... Are we here already? I asked to myself.

"We're here. I just need to park." He said.

I patiently waited for him. I did not felt the wind again. He must have closed the windows already. When the car stop, He went down the car, He'll most probably help me go outside.

"One step." He whispered. He held my hand and guided me.

"Thanks." I said and fixed my dress.

"Malayo pa ba iyong mismong beach?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

"Medyo. Mayroon hagdan. Pero, bubuhatin nalang kita." Natatawa niyang saad.

"Dylan, you really don't have to carry me... Just help me and I will be fine." I said.

"Hindi na. Ayaw ko nakikita ka na nahihirapan." He said.

Hawak niya pa rin ang kamay ko at dahang dahan naglalakad papunta roon.
Pagkatapos ng mga lakad namin ay bigla naman niya ako binuhat.

"Nasa hagdan na tayo?" Nagtataka kong tanong.

"Yup." He answered. "Yakapin mo ko." He whispered after.

Sinunod ko lang siya. Marami yatang steps kaya nag-offer rin ako na maglakad nalang.

"Puwede naman tayo mag-lakad, Dylan." I offered.

He sighed. "Alyssa, there is only five more steps left. Ituloy na natin to'." He simply said.

After those steps, he let me stood up already and which made me feel the sand on my toes.

"Ang lambot ng buhangin." Natutuwa kong sagot.

"Let's pick up shells?" He asked me.

"Can I remove my sandals?" I asked.

"Ah, yeah! There's a small hut in here." He said and gently dragged me to the hut.
Pinaupo niya ako sa isang wooden stool or maybe a bench. He's the one who removed my sandals kahit kaya ko naman. I felt like a princess.

"Tara, doon tayo sa shore." Aya niya kaya tumayo na ako. He held my hand going there. I felt some shells on my feet.

"You can handle right? Ikapa mo lang ang shell tapos pulutin mo." He said nicely.

I nodded because it's true. I think it's easy to pick up shells. Lalo na nadito kami sa shore at maraming nakakalat na seashells. Marami naman akong napulot pero hindi ko pa rin alam ang itsura... Pulot lang ako ng pulot. Hanggang sa nadapa ako dahil natalisod ako ng bato.

"Ouch!" I screamed.

"Alyssa!" I heard him screamed. I was lying down the sand and tried to stand up. Nagasgas ata ako dahil sa dami ng shells na nakakalat.

"I'm fine!" I said when he held my hand.

"No you're not! I'm healing your wound." He said seriously.

He suddenly carried me which made me squeal. He always catches me off guard. Hindi ko alam kung saan niya ako dadalhin. Naramdaman ko nalang na nakaupo ako sa bench.

"Kukunin ko lang yun first aid sa kotse." He said and rubbed my shoulders.

"Okay." I said like a whisper. Nahihiya na ako sa kanya dahil marami siyang nagagawa sa akin... I'm such a burden to everyone. Isang pagkakamali lang, malala agad ang sitwasyon.
