Chapter 2 - Reality Check

<<<KYLIE POV>>>

My hands were trembling as my sight blurred. Was he serious? If this is a prank, he's gone way too far.

I re-read the letter God knows how many times but it seemed legit. It took a couple of minutes of shock before my thinking sense kicked in.

I fell to the floor, leaning against Jack's side of the lovers' seat. I could not believe it. I just can't. Why would he just leave?

And to get married to some stupid blonde bimbo?? Even he can do better than that! All of this was too much for me to handle so I went over to the bed.

Yes, there's a bed here. We would sometimes sleep over here when our parents were away. It's pretty much our first home. We're hardly ever at our designated houses.

My eyelids started to droop as a wave of exhaustion swept over me.

The Next Morning

I woke up to the water gushing. I rubbed my eyes and looked around me, finding out that I fell asleep here.

I checked my phone to see that it's 6AM. Wow, I slept for about 14 hours!

I then remembered.

I remembered how Jack left me.

I remembered our our parents found out about us.
I remembered how Jack's getting married.
I remembered how I now have to get 10 jobs at the age of 14 just to pay for Harvard.

I remembered it all.

At 14, I already have so much stress, I don't think I can bear it for too long.

I felt like puking and so I did. Not in the water but in a bucket we left here years ago.

I suddenly felt really dizzy and hat to hold onto the edge of the bed to stop myself from toppling over.

I think it might be the fact that right before Jack left, he kinda had sex with me. I didn't find it exactly important earlier but I've been getting tired quite easily nowadays.

I also didn't find it important to mention it earlier. I seriously need to get my priorities straight.

I decided I would go to the doctor. Not just any doctor though. My best friend Tiana's mom is a doctor so I can get myself checked without my parents knowing.

I grabbed my purse and made my way to Duke University Hospital.

At The Hospital

"Well Kylie, we've thoroughly checked you over and we have found two serious issues."

I gulped. Please not be too serious. Please, please, please, ple-

"The first problem is that you have a low BP due to stress so you need to take it easy and make sure you take your medication on time."

"A-And the second?"

"Kylie, answer me truthfully. Did you and Jack have sexual intercourse at any point during the last month or two?"

I went red. The answer would be yes as he decided to have sex with me before he left. I didn't know why but he said that he wanted it to be a gift. I guess I know what he was talking about now.

"Well, Kylie Summers, you are 1 month pregnant."

I feel so torn up. I feel empty and aimless. I have no idea what to do with my life anymore.
