Chapter 12 - The Truth-Spilling Session

<<<KYLIE POV>>>

"Are you fucking kidding me right now?!?"

"Look-"

"Shut up! You think after dragging me into your classroom and kissing me against my will will make me listen to you?"

"I-"

"Shut-"

"NO! YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! YOU HAVEN'T LET ME EXPLAIN ANYTHING IN THE PAST DAMN WEEK SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE!! DO YOU EVEN KNOW THE GODDAMN REASON I'M EVEN HERE RIGHT NOW WASTING MY BREATH EVEN TALKING TO YOU?!"

I had nothing to say.

He had never shouted at me like that but something tells me that he was right.

I had never listened to his reasons.

I had never bothered to understand his point of view.

I had never bothered to ask.

"I-I'm sorry."

"You're sorry?? For what?"

"For everything really. I shouldn't have left you and I shouldn't have shouted at you just now."

"Jack, you have nothing to be sorry for. You were right. Just then."

The atmosphere was extremely awkward. We never had an awkward silence this bad. Alone I meant.

"Urgh, can we just talk? I've had enough of thee damn silences."

"I guess. You have some serious explaining to do."

So, instead of going to Calculus, we spent Jack's free period talking. What a teacher.

"So, why did you leave?"

"Well, my parents wanted to increase their company to other parts of America and that involved me in marrying Veronica. I never wanted to but my dad wouldn't let me."

"So why just a letter?"

"I felt like a coward. I was a coward. I didn't have the courage to face you because then I wouldn't have been able to find the strength to leave you."

I admit, that touched my heart. But I still need some more answers.

"Where were you?"

"Can I ask a few questions? Like 21 questions?"

I rolled my eyes at his childishness but a smile tugged at my lips unknowingly. God.

He took that as a sign to continue.

"What about the twins? What on earth did I miss??"

"Well, the day you left, I didn't know it at that point, my parents found out about us. I didn't want to stay at home anymore so I decided to go out. I went to our place-"

"You still go?"

Shit, I didn't mean to tell him.

"Uh... yeah."

"Funny, I've been there quite a few times too. Since I've been here."

"You don't take the leech do you??"

He was quite confused for a few seconds until he got it.

"God no! What kind of moron do you take me for?"

"A stupid one. An idiotic one. An-"

"Shut up and continue."

"Well, seeing as you asked so nicely(!) Then, when I got there, I found a letter on your side of the lover's rock. I opened it and I found out about what happened to you and I cried. But I went to sleep there and when I woke up the next morning, I threw up into that old leaky bucket you left there 10 years ago."

"Oh yeah. I was wondering where that went."

"Seriously. Anyway, I went to Tiana's place and, seeing as her mom was a doctor/gynecologist, they forced me to go. That was when I found out I was pregnant with twins and that I was diagnosed with low BP."

Jack looked so guilty I extended a hand as an old instinct.  He instantly held it, looking pretty satisfied with himself so I didn't have the heart to take my hand away.

"I then went back home looking as miserable as ever. Jayden had no idea about what had happened in our house. But I ended up shouting and having a huge row with my parents, swearing and all, and they both kicked me out-"

"They kicked you out?!?"

I just nodded as I continued.

"So, one day at school, I was crying in this classroom actually, in that spot."

I pointed to that corner where I had never been again. It brought back so many nightmares, I hardly ever went into this classroom.

"I was so stressed, I almost miscarried there. But Tom found me clutching my cramping stomach and he took me to the hospital. We became best friends after that. We introduced each other's friends to each other and all 6 of us are still together since this day."

"Wow."

"Indeed. Labor hurt like a bitch but it was worth hearing their cries. Chase is older but Charlie is definitely the bossy one!"

He chuckled at that as I continued to tell him about his children.

"Anyway, after I almost miscarried, I was living in a woman's hostel until Tom said that he'd take me in. His mom, Ivy, was 10 times better than my own. She even decided for all of us to move away from my parents and so she and Zak, Tom's dad, moved us all. She got as apartment together and she even knew that they weren't even her son's children. But about 7 months ago, we started gathering feelings and we started dating. We loved each other so much, I ended up pregnant with his first child. And he wants to do everything he can to keep him or her healthy."

"Wow, that's quite a lot to take in. And The Joking Cascades are quite far from here. How do you get there? Does Tom know about it?"

"No, I never told him. But I always take his car. He trusts me enough to let me go."

"The funny thing is I saw your parents in town the other day. I didn't greet them and they didn't see me or anything but I recognized them from the estate agency so I generally thought you all moved here."

My parents were in town? In an estate agency??

This can not be good.
