Chapter 7

"J-Jeff?" She said in a shaky voice. "Is everything ok?"

I couldn't answer. I was just so struck by how much I was attracted to her. I stared into her eyes and turned around so she couldn't see my red face.

After walking down a couple of blocks, we started to get to know each other, but at every bad thing that happened in her life.

"J-Jeff?" She asked in a shaky tone.

I looked in her face and saw her eyes full io tears. "What's going to happen to me if the cops catch me?"

I looked in her eyes and handed her a knife I kept in my back pocket.

"I won't let them." I said.

We walked into the back of apartment building. In this huge city, it's easy to get lost. I hid behind a large, wide oak tree. I waited a couple of moments before motioning Emily over to my side.

She crept over to the tree in professional stealth. She didn't even get spotted by the street lights. I had to admire her skills.

I crept over to the iron pull out ladder that led up to an open window. I fly up the ladder with ease. When I turned around to motion for Emily, she was already behind me, waiting for my next order.

We crept through the window and onto the creaky floor boards below us.

We looked around us to find a bunch of dusty chests.

This must be the attic of the building. We searched the attic for a way out, but only managed to get some unnecessary attention below.

After a couple of minutes, a man in a red bell hopper suit came into the attic with a flash light.

"Who's up here!?" He bellowed out.

He walked into the middle of the room, right in the center of the moonlight that flashed out of the window.

I studied the man for a couple of minutes. He was tall and lanky, his hair was a blonde mess. He was terrified. I loved the sight of his fear.

I withdrew the knife from my hoodie and crept behind him. I tapped the edge of my knife on his shoulder.

He spun around in complete fear and fell onto the floor with a thud.

"Please no, anything but you!" He yelled.

"Shhh" I cooed softly. "I won't do anything to you."

A flash of relief crossed his face.

I held up the knife to his mouth.

"I'm just going to make you beautiful."

I looked into the shadows to find Emily staring at me with a huge smile across her face. Before I could even slice his cheek, Emily tackles the man to the ground.

She withdrew the knife from her jacket pocket that I gave her on the way here.

She plunged the knife into his cheek and carved a smile into his face. He screamed during that time, but her hand was over his mouth so his cries were muffled.

She then took the knife a plunged it into his chest.

I counted each time she brought the knife into his chest and each time I saw her smile get wider and wider.

When she was done, she made her way over to the window were the moon was shining through.

I walked over to her blood soaked body and looked her eyes.

"I've never seen someone do that before." I said in a shaky tone. She looked at me with wide eyes and a huge smile. Ber raven black hair was on her face.

"J-Jeff..." She cooed so softly.

"Can I come with you?" Her smile was so huge it frightened me a little.

"I would love that," I answered softly. I took ahold of her left hand and felt my face grow warm. Her smile turned into a straight face. Then she slowly closed her eyes.

I leaned in and held her in my arms. I pressed my cold lips on hers. I couldn't even explain the feelings I had for her. They felt better than the feelings I get when I kill my victims.

I felt her grab onto my sweatshirt. I don't know how long we've been kissing, but it must have grown darker.

We made our way outside and back to the oak tree we used to sneak our way into the building.

We walked down the street that led to my house. I reach for her hand and held it for a long while. It was so warm it broke my cold heart.

We stood on the door step of my house.

I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her in for another kiss.

After a couple of moments, she pushed me away softly and looked me in my eyes.

"Jeff?" She asked softly. "Promise me...you won't leave me like my mother did.."

I held her hand up to my heart. "I'm not going to let you out of my sight. Now, why don't you come in? It's cold out here."

I watched as her eyes grew wide...and her smile grew as wide as mine....
