Experiments

Ruth's POV

The fear ended when they opened up the closet and picked me up. They held Jordan's hands behind his back. They ran downstairs. "ADAM!", I yelled. I reached my hand out to him. He held me, but then our hands slipped apart. I watched as I was carried outside. The last thing I saw was tears flowing down Adam's face. We were put in the back of a truck, with magic proof ropes around our hands and legs. I sat there, sobbing. Jordan seemed angry. It wasn't that long of a trip. As I looked through the caged up window, I saw where we were. The Aperture Science Facility Testing Labs. I looked at Jordan and he looked at me sadly. The truck parked, and we were taken inside. There was the head chief it looked like standing at the gates. "Who do we have here?", he asked in a deep voice. "Their amulets have special powers.", said one of the doctors. "Show him." Me and Jordan hesitated. "Show him!", yelled the doctor. We were let out of the ropes and huffed. "Very interesting.", said the chief. "We'll have tests on them right away." We were taken to a room with steel walls. The door was steel too with a caged window. It had two beds, which were pretty comfy. But I wasn't comfortable. I looked through the door window, then started sobbing. I cuddled up next to Jordan. "We're never going to see them again.", I sobbed. "Don't say that.", said Jordan softly. We stayed there for a few minutes until a couple of scientists came into the room. I cried harder. One of the scientists frowned. "We're not goof to do any physical harm to you.", he said. "We just need a few questions." We were sent to a room where you would see in one of those cop shows. "Where did you get the amulet?", they asked Jordan. They were going to ask Jordan all the questions because they knew how upset I was. Jordan didn't say a word. "Not going to talk?", asked a scientist. "We have ways to deal with you." He got out a taser. "Tell him.", I whispered to Jordan. "You tell them.", he whispered. "Wait.", I said. "I got mine from minecraft, a video game I love to play. It was through a portal that actually took us to the minecraft dimension." The scientists wrote down somethings. I hated the feel of being experimented on. "And do you know where the portal is?", asked a scientist. "I can't remember.", I replied. They wrote down more things. I started crying again. "What abilities do the amulets have?", asked a scientist. Jordan took out his amulet and opened it. "These lights contain a power that can give us that power.", he explained. "But you can't take them. They're out life source." "Well how else are we going to find out how they work?", asked a scientist. Jordan shrugged. We were asked a lot of questions that took forever to get through. "We are going to do some tests on your amulets now.", said a scientist. He told us to follow him. I was really nervous. Then, Jordan held my hand. A rush of relief seemed to flow over me.

Ty's POV

Adam was really upset. He was still sobbing about Ruth. "Adam please stop crying!", pleaded Jason. "My sister is gone and she's going to be gone forever!", sobbed Adam. "No she's not..", said Mitch. We all looked at him. "We're going to go back to that hospital and demand to know where they're keeping Ruth and Jordan." Adam seemed to stop crying. "Lets go!", yelled Adam. We got in the car, and drove off. Once we got to the hospital, Adam almost broke the doors when he burst through them. A couple doctors looked at us. We went to the doctor that had taken care of Ruth. "Where are they?", asked Adam sternly. "Sorry I'm not aloud to say.", said the doctor. Adam grabbed him by his collar. "Where are they!", demanded Adam. "I'm not aloud to say.", said the doctor. "But I can say this, they are going to be coming back after scientists have figured out how they work and if they are dangerous. They also need to find out other things, but that I don't know." Adam let the go of the doctor. "When are they coming back?", Adam asked. "That's up to the scientists.", said the doctor. Adam started crying again. We got back in the car, and drove home. "I'm never going to see them again.", sobbed Adam. "We just have to wait.", I said. "Don't know how long, but we can handle it."

Jordan's POV

We were sent to a place that sort of looked like the hospital. It had two so called beds but we knew they were just  experimenting tables we were supposed to lay on so we could be experimented on. I got a little nervous. Ruth's hand was shaking. "Just lay down on these.", said a scientist. I let go of Ruth's hand and laid down on the table. She did the same. The scientists opened our amulets and got out these tools. I took a deep breathe. Here we go, I thought.

After the experiment:

It had been a weird experience. They did all sorts of things with the lights in our amulets. It kind of felt weird. We got off the tables. I held Ruth's hand again. We were sent now to a room. It looked like a shooting range. I then got it. They were going to test our powers. We stood at the shooting range. "Just pick a power and use it to shoot at the targets.", said a scientist. We hufffed, and I turned to lightning. Ruth turned to snow. I shot a lightning bolt at the target. Ruth threw an icicle. The lightning bolt sent shock waves through the target. Ruth's icicle froze the target. The scientists wrote down some things. "I'm sorry to say.", said the scientist. "We're going to have to keep you two for a month." Ruth broke down crying. "Are you kidding me?", I said. "You guys suck!" "Don't worry.", said a scientist. "You'll get food and water." "So your treating us like pets basically.", I said. "I guess you could say that.", said a scientist. I looked at Ruth. "What about contact with our friends?", I asked. "You will get to talk to them on a phone, but other than that you won't.", explained a scientist. "Thanks.", I said. We were sent back to our room. I sat on my bed, and Ruth cuddled up next to me. "We're going to be ok.", I said. "I promise."
