The static was louder than before, (Y/n) knew something was bound to happen now, or... she was going insane. It seemed somewhat reasonable that this would be coming back to her as of what happened when she was a child. This could be real like it was when she was a child, however, it could be that she could be going a bit insane from what happened as flashbacks came once in awhile to her and it would always make her, even more, angrier.
Sighing, (Y/n) inhaled, trying her best to think of something besides the static engulfing her ears. Looking around, she was at a small grocery store, two to three cars were in the parking lot, and the place was pretty empty. The back of the store had rows of trees from the small woods that was around the area.
Why did go to a place with woods galore?? Thought I learned by now.
Looking down the road was a sidewalk, cracks chipped the sides of it and weeds were growing from the cracks. If she were to walk down this sidewalk, it'll lead to her work. Or rather, ex-workplace. The static started to calm and she started clearing her mind.
"Hey, again."
A fragile, but stable, small voice said behind her. She squeaked and turned on heels. Nothing. Nothing was there. "What... What...the hell," she murmured, puzzled, she starting to frantically to look around for the source.
Am... Am I going insane!?
She sighed and tried to ignore what she had just heard. Sucking in some oxygen with a big huff, she started her way to her work. Ignoring what she had heard, and ignoring that static behind her.
She didn't want this. It happened before. This won't be what happened. I will make sure of that!
The gas station was pretty small, had about eight gas pumps for the truckers and drivers and a small store with a variety of snacks, drinks, tobacco products and much more. With a catchy slogan on the side of the building, it was just a regular small neighborhood gas station with few cars coming in and out of the place. With sore legs from the mile walk, (Y/n) made her way into the store bringing her gloomy cloud above her.
By the counter was the all-to-familiar-lounging-cashier. His hair draped across his shoulders in a black wave and his never ending Cheshire smile.
"Wassup! Haven't seen you in awhile. Where ya been?" He asked with his emerald eyes gleaming as they always did.
"Umm, well, I'll consider it a vacation, " (Y/n) replied, then holding two fingers up, "A two-week vacation where I get lost in the woods and get fired."
"Oh," He said, thinking where she really had been, "Well, okay. So you are fired?" He asked, hoping to get to know more about what her vague answer meant.
"Keys?"
"Keys," he blurted as he tossed the keys to her in a gentle manner.
(Y/n) caught them with one hand and darted toward the staff room. Unlocking the door with the metal keys and opening it, she was now in a room where a set small lockers were for employees. All she had here was two things. Walking over to the lockers, she heard a click of the door. Someone entered. Being alert as she sometimes was, she turned to see who opened the door in a split second.
"Hey, (Y/n)," the blonde's female voice echoed in the room.
"Heeyyy," she slurred, wondering why her boss was in here.
"What happened?" her boss asked now with a serious tone.
"What do ya mean? I was just taking two weeks off without anyone noticing...," (Y/n) sounded like the worst when it came to lying.
"(Y/n) (L/n), something happened. I had gone to you home a couple of times over the two weeks to see if you're alright. You were never there. However, don't call me a stalker or anything, I looked through your windows. I know your a kid who keeps their home maintain. What did happen? Your home was a wreck. I went to your neighbor's home if they knew anything. Nothing. They hadn't seen you in days. So, (Y/n), what happened?"
Something was wrong. (Y/n) felt it. She felt tingly, the static behind her like it been for awhile with her ignoring it the best she could. Now she wasn't ignoring it, " Nothing. NOTHING'S wrong! I just want to go home. Okay! I'm already fired and so I should be leaving now. I'm not gonna stand here and being questioned by a judge! I'm alright! Everything's fine! So don't worry about it. Worry about your problems! I ain't your problem! I never was! So buh-bye!" (Y/n) snapped, now going through her locker and reaching to pull out a flashlight and a jacket she had kept in there and was walking towards the door.
Gladly enough, everything said in the staff room can't be heard from the inside of the small store where customers were. The staff room door opened and out came an angered (Y/n). "Heads up!" she said anger lingering in her voice as she tossed the keys to the lounging cashier.
"Woah!" he said has he didn't catch what she said and had a pair of metal keys flying at his head.
After all that, (Y/n) was outside the store and walking home. Fiddling through her pockets and her jacket on her, she noticed the sky was dimming.
Already!? Maybe rest will be best right now!
She then pulled out a piece of piece of paper. She smiled slightly. Maybe he could drive her home, and possibly learn some more on what he thought was going on. Bringing out her mobile phone she dialed the numbers and waited.
"Hello?"
"Oh, hey, Alex!" She perked.
"Hey, (Y/n), so how are you doing?"
"Doing somewhat good. Think you could possibly drive me home? I don't have a car, and the next bus to arrive here will be here in an hour."
"Sure thing. Where ya at?"
"Um...," she looked around, "I'm at thirteen street, by the gas station."
"Okay, got it, I'll be there as soon as I can," He answered.
"Thanks, Alex," she smiling.
"No problem, see ya."
"See ya too," she then ended the phone call.
Not fifteen minutes later, a car pulled by the curb and the familiar face of Alex was waving at her, as she was too with her smile. "Thanks, again, Alex," she thanked as she got into the car.
Looking around, the car was pretty clean from the inside. It seemed like a nice, ordinary car. Well, except that pile of papers on the window dash. They were notebook sheets. Something in black was written all over.
Curousity is something (Y/n) couldn't control. She really wanted to know what was written on them. Despite the aching feeling whenever she looked at them, she needed to know.
"So where do you live, Madame?" Alex said as he tried to voice a British gentleman. (Y/n) chuckled to herself. Then she realized that was the first time she had laughed since this whole thing started. Smiling shortly, she told him the directions and described the house. From there they started joking around. It felt nice.
