(Y/n) walked down the street, a heavy feeling left itself in her chest. Feeling paranoia, she ignored the sounds all around. Stuck in her own bubble, she thought and thought. Couldn't take her mind of things. How is everything fine?

(Y/n) was making her way towards the nearest hardware store, they were hiring, and just so happens that little ol' was in need a job. She needed some source of money. Shivering, she tightened the jacket around herself. It was soon to be winter, and all that would do is make things harder on her. From what she heard for predictions this year, was that it was going to have very packed snow and extremely bitter cold. Just wonderful!

With that in mind, she kept her sleeves across her chest and bared with the frosty morning. Paranoia grew as she was walking nearer and nearer the dreaded woods.

Does this happen to other people? Does it? Or is it just me? I do remember when I was kid, they talked about how another kid was going through the same things. They told me when I was in the mental hospital that maybe I could visit him. Even though I agreed and was eager to meet him, I never got the chance, and they wouldn't allow me. Ha, I remember this one time, someone came down the hallway and was needing someone that was in my room, I think it was a nurse. So they didn't bother acknowledging my presence, but I heard that the boy ran away. Fun thing was that it wasn't his first time, which made me think I could run away. Run away. Run from this and that. Run from doctors, run from my parents, nurses, people, run away from everything. That I could run away from It.

"Eek!" (Y/n) squeaked as she slipped landing, luckily, in the dirt.

"Hey, you okay?" A familiar voice sounded from a distance. Glancing as she lifted shaking self from the dirt and pavement. She nodded as she bite her lip and tried to endure the pain on her kneecap, knowing it was going to a fine scrape. Across the street, Tim was fast-walking to her. (Y/n) waved, hiding that burning sensation acting tough.

"Aye, Tim, and ya.... I'm fine, trust me," she faked her smile as she tried bending her knee biting her lip in the exaggerated pain.

"You don't seem fine," his face with sympathy. He could see right through her fake grin.

Pulling from her act, she sighed, "Just road rash," she said truthfully. It could be more, but it mainly felt like the same common road rash.

"That gotta suck," Tim commented.

"Been through worse," (Y/n) smirked.

"Ain't that the truth."

"So what brings you here?" (Y/n) asked as she and him were now walking.

"Felt like I needed a walk to cool down," he answered, then added: "Tough week. What about you?"

"I have a job interview at that hardware place nearby. Kinda... forgot the name...," she chuckled slightly as she stared ahead.

"May I walk you there, Madame?" He said as he as he quirked an eyebrow and held out his hand.

"Woah, gentleman-like now. Yes, and thank you kind, Sir," (Y/n) replied in an attempt for an accent as she took his hand. "Okay then," she smiled.

Tim held on her hand gently as he couldn't help, but smile. Something about her, she made him happy. He didn't know why, with everything going on, love was the last thing he needed. They chatted, asked about each other, and joked around. Tim noticed as she often glanced at the woods, from his view, it would be hard not to notice it. He didn't question it, knowing that he wanted to, but held that question.

About two blocks away from the shop, and twenty minutes until her interview would be starting, they were walking on a sidewalk with the woods about to over loom the road.

Her breath hitched as she noticed the woods. It felt engulfing to walk near it. She swear she was hearing static, not clear, but distant. "What's wrong?" Tim asked with a concern gaze.

"Uh, it's nothing, really. Just my mind being weird," she forced a chuckle and looked around," Ooohh, a bird," she said.

Tim looked at her in her (e/c) orbs. She was advoiding eye contact now. "What's wrong? Really?"

"It's nothing, just like I said. By the way, those are some cool birds."

"Don't change the subject. I know when something's wrong," he frowned, slightly tilting his eyes as if that would help to figure it out.

"Nothing. K? Don't need to talk about. Those are some cute birds, kinda annoying, but cute."

Tim sighed as he gave up for now. They chatted some more, despite the awkwardness. "Hey, maybe we could go some place later?" he smiled as (Y/n) was admiring his face.

"...wait..uhh. Sure!" She perked as she blushed awkwardly. After that they exchanged numbers and (Y/n) walked into the shop for her interview.

Blushing as (Y/n) walked into the store, she was nervous, but being through so many job interviews before, she wasn't as bad. An employee sent her to the back where she sat for awhile. And there a woman came in with questions. And it all went from there.

"Got the job?"

"Don't know yet; waiting for a call," (Y/n) answered as she leaned against the wall with her cell against her ear.

"Hmm... Hey, maybe we could go hang out somewhere?" Tim suggested.

(Y/n) nodded as if he could see her, "Sounds good. Where?"

"How about that new restaurant in town? Heard the foods really good."

(Y/n) smiled, "Sounds perfect... So maybe tomorrow around 3:30?"

"Okay, sounds like a date," Tim smirked as cheered himself on mentally. "So, I should be going soon, and I hope everything works out!"

"Aww thanks, I'm trying my best to keep my plan working; just stressful," she said truthful, "Heh, stressful seems like a weak word when it comes to worry for your life and mind."

"Wait- what?"

"N-nothing! Sorry... Just comes out... Well anyways, hope you have a wonderful and day and see ya."

"See ya soon, (Y/n)!" Tim said as he had a tone of suspension that was trying not to be obvious, which he was poorly failing to do so.

"Ya. Umm. Bye!" She ended the call awkwardly. Why did she say that? Why. Why. Why me! You just had to blurt that out! Now he's gonna be all curious and suspicious and what not. (Y/n) yelled in her mind and had complete argument.

Arguing in her mind, she braced herself as she walked down the hall and to her bedroom. She sat on her bed lazily, and stared at her small bedroom TV that was on a coffee table with a cable box and several little mini figures and notes of what's been going on. On the cable box was the orange pill bottle, filled half-way with those white, menacing pills. "Aww fuck it," she lunged up and scooted across the room, grabbed the bottle and walked to her hallway closet. Opening it, she unlocked a door that was hidden in there and threw those in there and locked it back up with a lock and left to her own room. She did it for her sake. For all she knew, they seemed as good as ever.
