Chapter 4 - The Poisonous Flower pt.2
Something didn't smell right in the air and it wasn't Dan's teenage class mates who were sweating from the broken central heating that had found itself stuck on maximum heat, no, it was one of those smells where you could just tell something wasn't going to go right and what ever it was it wasn't going to be pretty.
Two days later during lunch break Dan had taken to the college roof a place where he could be left to his thoughts. It was a small area but good enough to hide away, it was a sanctuary in most schools and colleges not to mention it was rarely used at this time of year since snow had been falling all day and by now it had reached the point where it was ankle deep how ever this wasn't going to stop Dan from sitting in it.
After half an hour of sulking in the snow Dan lifted his snow infested head revealing his red face caused by the immense cold, he had come to the point where all he wanted to do was be buried alive he was that depressed. Life wasn't worth it any more. Aiden had torn his heart in two and caused him to lose a friend that he had only just met, he some how doubted Camile would like to be friends with him after all of his commotion. The exit doors then opened up at the far end of the roof and out appeared a young male about Dan's age,
“You know if you stay up here you'll make yourself seriously ill” said a carefree voice, Dan looked over in the voices direction, he was a lanky male dressed snuggle in a woollen lined coat with a woolly hat to keep his white head of hair warm, Kin'no had black bits around the edges of his hair and piercing, cold yellow eyes. Dan responded by looking back away “This isn't like you” he said, Dan still didn't say anything “Jeez, I go all out to find out where you went, I even came up here, just to find you and this is how you treat me?” the male complained as he lowered his ears, usually Kin'no had a cold personality around people although he had made an exception for Dan back when they first met and Dan would have happily told any one that it was the strangest day of his life, Kin'no had also blessed Dan with his true self, a side of Kin'no only he got to know.
“...Sorry Kin'no...” muttered Dan as snow dropped of his drooped cat ears, Kin'no was Dan's best friend yet he was the worst friend you could have. At times he was there for you and not even at times you would need him and he was never around when you needed somebody to turn to, he also had a bad attitude to boot, at least he had for once done the best friend thing and turned up to support Dan, unless he had a motive to do so.
“You look like a mess” he bluntly put, “Some guy turn you down hm?” Kin'no knew everything about Dan from his past till present and knew that he had a past relationship with another guy whilst in high school and often teased him about since he never had any interest in woman before. Dan starred with his soulless eyes(1) a look that Kin'no could easily figure out since he had handed out a few of the same look to the other students at the college, “So, I was right...” he said, Dan turned away again has he eyes begun to swell he hated showing emotion in front of his best friend, “Come on spit it out, I want to hear why you're sulking up here and risking your life over something like this...”
“What's the point, it won't change anything” complained Dan,
“It might make you feel better, besides I'm curious who it is” Said Kin'no as is posed with one hand on his hip, Dan scowled
“Bastard...” he replied,
“I know” grinned Kin'no.
Kin'no took Dan back to his place after college was over, he had finally managed to make Dan speak and spent most of the afternoon glaring at Aiden who had causally done classes as if nothing happened. Kin'no lived this his family of four and pet dog, he lived with a family who were without a Surname and they just happened to be out,(2) since it was near Christmas and everything they were out shopping for relatives and friends,
