A/n: This one is a little cliché, but don't judge. ;) Also, sorry for the length, I promise the next one will be longer!
I jolted awake to sounds of yelling coming from down the hall. I recognized them as Jason's, and hopped out of bed, heading to his room and opening it a crack. He was in his bed, asleep, but even in the dark I could tell that his face was contorted in pain. He was having another one of his nightmares. I hated seeing him like this; he didn't deserve these awful dreams that kept reminding him of his past. We had been friends since we were kids and Bruce took him in. I was there for him when he was Robin, was devastated when he died, and helped him with the aftermath of him coming back. Over the years, we had become super protective of each other, so I could barely stand seeing him suffer like this. I walked to his bed, and lay on my side on top of the sheets. When I reached over and shook his shoulder gently until he woke up, panting heavily.
Jason sat up, and looked around wildly until his eyes focused on my face. "Hey, hey, you're okay." I said, trying to reassure him. He hung his head, his messy black hair hanging down. I covered his clenched fists with my hand, and he relaxed slightly. "I wish they would stop, (Y/n)." He whispered. I sighed and shut my eyes, wishing that I could do something to stop his pain. "Me too, Jason. Me too." He suddenly grabbed me and hugged me to his chest.
"At least I have you. (Y/n), you've been there for me since we were kids, and seriously, I don't know who I would be without you. I don't always show it in the best way, but I really do love you, you know?" I widened my eyes a little at his words; I mean, it wasn't often he opened up to me like that. "Love you too, Jason." I whispered. We lay there for a while until I felt his heart beat slow, and I glanced up to see him asleep, peacefully this time. I smiled and brushed his hair off his forehead, before kissing his cheek and falling asleep against him, glad that I was at least able to stop the nightmares for tonight.
