I opened the door to my room, and when I peeked inside, there was a girl with pale skin and dark brown hair sitting on her bed, looking at something on her laptop. She looked up at me, then broke out into a grin.
"Hi! You must be Sabrina!" she said excitedly, then closed her laptop and jumped up to meet me. I walked inside and smiled at her.
"Hey! And you must be Hailey," I said, and she nodded.
"That's me! Do you like how the room's set up? 'Cause we can change it if you want to, I wasn't really sure what your style is and what colors you like and-" Hailey rambled on.
"Oh no, it's gorgeous! You did a great job," I said, hoping she wasn't mad that I cut her off.
"Thanks! So, you ride, right?" she said, and I nodded.
"I have a horse named Leo. What do you like to do?" I asked, and I sat down on my bed, facing her.
"I absolutely LOVE to paint! And draw. And color. And make sculptures. Basically anything art, I love it!" she said in her bubbly tone.
We told each other more about each other, and I knew she was gonna be a great roomie. She came here for middle school, and she was even the class Secretary.
"Wanna grab something to eat?" she asked.
"That sounds great!" I said.
"Cool, I'll introduce you to some of the other girls here."
We slipped our shoes on, grabbed our phones and keys, then headed out of the dorm and towards the center of the campus, where the cafeteria was, the whole time Hailey talking about Timber Creek.
"As you know, it's famous for its elite equestrian team, and lot's of other programs, such as its art program," she said with a smile. "It also has gardening programs, cooking classes, technology programs, really everything," she added.
"Cool," I said. "I'm guessing you're in the art program.
She nodded. "Yup, and last year I was in the intermediate art class, but I'm in the advanced group now," she said.
"Wow, I bet you're really good," I said.
"Oh, I'm okay, I'm not that great," she said, blushing.
"You must be if you're in the advanced class!" I said with a laugh. She just grinned and blushed.
We had reached the line for the caf, and the choices were cheese, pepperoni, and veggie pizza. I grabbed a slice of cheese, and a slice of pepperoni. Hailey got pepperoni and veggie.
We chose a table that had a couple other girls at it. I noticed one of them was Carly. I sat between her and Hailey.
"Hey Sabrina!" Carly said with a friendly smile.
"Hi," I said, with a matching smile.
"How's everything going? How's Leo?" she asked.
"Things are going good, and Leo's great. He loves his large stall," I said.
"Good," she said with a smile.
"Hey, guys, so I wan't you all to meet Sabrina. She's my new roomie, and she's in the riding program," Hailey said to the group. Everyone smiled and waved.
"Hey, I'm Anna," said a pale skinned girl with light brown hair. Her eyes shone like diamonds.
"Hi," I grinned, and everyone went around and said their names.
We continued to eat our pizza, and it turned out that Anna and a few of the other girls at the table lived in Preston Hall, and Carly lived in York Hall, which is just across the court yard.
