T R I S

I undraw the pink curtains to my bedroom window and open the window wide. I smile at the sight of Tobias at his bedroom window, exactly two metres away from mine.

"Hey," I say, resting my elbows on the windowsill and holding my head in my palms.

Tobias smiles back. "Now this is what I call friendship goals."

"Friendship goals?" He nods. "But I barely know you."

"Of course you do," he says. "We just ate dinner together and now you know where I live."

"Correction," I say, holding up a finger, "You sat at my table in McDonald's without my consent."

Tobias pretends to look around before shrugging. "I didn't see anyone complaining."

I let out a small laugh. "You're a weirdo, you know that?"

"And you're not?" He smirks.

"Actually, I'm not. I'm the opposite."

"Okay, Miss Opposite, I-"

I hear something coming from inside Tobias's house, cutting him off. Like a muffled yell followed by the sound of glass shattering.

"I've gotta go." Tobias says quickly, his eyes widened. "See you at school?"

"See you at school, weirdo."

He vastly closes the window and shuts the curtains, as if he's suddenly in a hurry.

"Weirdo," I mutter to myself.

I don't know what time it is when I wake up to something hitting me in my face, but when I look at the sky through my window it's light outside so I must've been asleep for ages.

I sit up, rubbing my forehead, to see a paper aeroplane in my lap. I open it up and see something written on it in neat handwriting.

I can't help but smile as I rush over to my window hoping Tobias is there

I can't help but smile as I rush over to my window hoping Tobias is there.

He is.

"That hurt," I say, holding a hand to my forehead.

"Good." He smiles, showing his teeth, but I just frown.

"Good?"

"Yeah. Well, it worked, didn't it? You're awake."

I bite my lip, smiling. "And what makes you feel the need to wake me up? How do you know I wasn't already awake?"

Tobias taps his forehead. "I know everything.." I raise a perfect eyebrow. "Okay, fine. I could hear you snoring from a mile away."
