Yugyeom's P.O.V

Wow it feels like school just started. It's already prom night and I get to go with a beautiful girl. I'm surprised I even got the courage to ask her out. I'm on my way to go pick her up from her house.

I've known this girl for a while now but I never really talked to her. She was always so quiet so I never knew if she would ever like talking to me. I knock on the door after texting her I'm outside. Her mom opens the door and I wait until she walks out to the living room ready to leave. (Y/n L/n), the quiet girl of the school is my prom date. I still can't get that through my head. I was looking down until I heard a voice. "Hey Yugyeom." a familiar voice says. I look up to see a gorgeous sight. I almost forgot to speak. "Hey (Y/n) you ready to go?" I ask trying to keep my head together.

We get in the car and listen to the radio. I want to say something to her but I'm tongue tied. I've never seen someone so beautiful.

We arrive at the school parking lot. We walk through the entrance and head all the way to the gym doors. I look at her and nod my head waiting to get one back to make sure she felt comfortable. I open the door for her and the first song we hear clearly was 'Let Me Love You' by Mario. I automatically got flustered. I hope she didn't notice.

I look around trying to find a table where both of our friends would be sitting. After a while of looking around I finally see a few hands waving at us. I looked at (Y/n) and tap her shoulder while pointing over to the table. She gave me a small smile and immediately started walking over to the table of friends while looking back to make sure I was following her.

"Oh look at Yugyeom, looking like a gentleman. What happened to the maknae we used to know?" all my friends kept asking me. "What do you mean?" I respond back while laughing. We all sit down and start talking about random things. Well let me change that, everyone else was talking about random things. All I could think about was (Y/n). She consumed my mind so much that I had basically tuned out the sounds from the gymnasium.

My friend Dustin tapped me on the shoulder letting me know he was about to get up and dance with his date. 'Exchange' by Bryson Tiller is on now. I took a quick glance at (Y/n) and noticed her grooving to the song. I don't know she liked this kind of music. I didn't know she liked music at all. "Do you want a drink (Y/n)?" I ask at the most awkward moment. "Yes, thank you."

I walked away from the table and face palm myself. Why am I such an awkward person? Everyone in this school for some reason sees me as some cool guy so why can't  I actually be that cool guy with this one girl?

As I get the cups of punch together the music stops. I guess someone is making a song request. I don't think I've ever heard this song before. Oh well, let me just finish preparing the cups and continue my awkward date.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

It's been around 5 minutes since Yugyeom left to go get the drinks. I don't feel like he's really interested in me. We haven't really said anything to each other since we got here. 'Tears' by Clean Bandit just came on. I don't think I've ever related to the beginning of a song so much in my life.

I must've been thinking for too long because I looked at my best friend and she was questioning my appearance. "What's wrong? You don't look happy. Aren't you happy you're here at prom with your dream boy?" she asks. "I would be happy but we haven't said anything to each other. I feel like he just asked me to go with him for pity. He doesn't seem like a shallow guy and I don't want to think of him like that but he hasn't really done anything to make me enjoy being her you know?" I say confessing.
