When I woke up, I was in my bed. The first thing I thought of was how I got there. I hadn't even opened my eyes yet and I already heard people talking. It sounded so close to me. I just laid there listening.

"I don't know what happened," said Anthony. "She took a little longer than normal to come back, so I walked down stream and seen her passed out in the water."

"Well," said my mother. "Thank you for bringing her home. I'm sure she will be fine after a while. She probably just needs some rest."

I opened my eyes and raised up in my bed. No one was in my room. How did I hear that conversation? Then I remembered what Lexi did to me. I'm no longer human. Why would she turn me? Did Anthony even notice? What's he going to think?

I heard footsteps and I quickly laid back down in my bed before the person got into my room. The door opened and shut quietly.

"It's just me, Sheila," said Anthony. "You should be awake by now."

"I am," I said.

"How do you feel?"

"Honestly, terrible. My head is throbbing, I feel like I'm starving, and my senses are so... Sensitive."

"That's how it all starts, love."

"Does it go away with time?"

"Sometimes."

"How do you know so much about this?"

He laughed and grabbed my hand. "Did you forget? I was with Lexi. She's obviously not a saint."

"I know, but I tried so hard to get along with her. I guess she did this to get back at me..."

"No," he moved a lock of hair out of my face. "She did this to get back at me."

"But I don't understand. You really didn't do anything wrong."

"That you know of."

My throat started burning really bad and my headache got even worse. I looked at Anthony and his vein in his neck was throbbing and so tempting, but no. I won't be a monster.

"I... I have to go hunt. Like, now."

"Here," he handed me his wrist. "Drink away."

"Definetly not!" I said quickly. "I will drink blood so I don't die, but I will NOT drink human blood, and definetly not yours! Especially not now! I might not have any self control and I'm not risking it."

"You're a vampire, Sheila. Not a monster."

"Look," I said as I quickly got up. "I have to go. Now. I don't want to do anything I will later regret."

"I'm coming too."

"No! I need to be by myself. I will be back in a few minutes. I promise."

I jumped out the window and ran as fast as I could to the woods. I smelled two bucks fighting in the woods automatically. They were fighting and one was already bleeding. Dominance was about to cost them their lives.

I quickly drank them both dry. I felt a lot better afterwards, but it still didn't feel like enough. I have a lot more self control than I thought I would have though to be a new vampire.

I thought about going home, but then I thought about what Lexi said earlier.

"I know more than you think I do sweet heart. From me reading his journal without him knowing and what all I've heard and seen today, I don't need to know anything else. There isn't anything else to know."
