Chapter 1

Camila's pov

"Ok, settled down class, settled down," the teacher said, making the chatter go down, grabbing everyone's attention. "I hoped that you all study for this quiz last night" A bunch of mumbling was heard throughout the class.

"Mrs A, can you please postpone the quiz?" One of the students begged. "I had practice and we didn't let out till like 10"

"Well, I'm sorry, but no the quiz is still on" Passing out the quiz to us. "Now keep your eyes on your paper," she said sitting down back at her desk.

"Done," both I and my friend ally said, handing in our test.

"Are you sure? I just passed them out, maybe you should go back and look at it again?" The teacher suggested.

"Mhm," we said glancing down at our work. "Yea, still done" we smiled. The teacher rolled her eyes but took our papers.

"Fucking nerds" Zach from the basketball team coughed, making everyone laugh at us.

"They're doing it again" Ally whispered to me.

"Just ignore them" I whispered back, patting her arm. "Anyway, Mrs Arnold is it ok if we head to the library?" I politely asked, holding my books closer to my chest. She looked between us then huffed.

"Fine! Here" handing us both halls passes. "Just be back before the bell rings"

"Of course" Ally cheered, snatch up the hall passes, giving me one. "And not a minute late" she happily declared hooking her arm with mine as we made our out.

"They're just losers" was the last thing I heard before the door closed.

"Hey, Camila can I ask you something?" Ally asked, pulling my attention away from the book. "It's been bothering me for a while now"

Sitting my book to the side, I gave ally my full undivided attention. "Sure"

"Ok, well you know how Zach keeps calling us names?" She asked timidly, fidgeting with the pages of her book. "Do you think that he might have a point?"

"Ally, pay him no attention, ok he's just some dumb jock, that has nothing better to do," I say grabbing her hand from across the table, squeezing it. "Plus I think we're pretty awesome, and I'm not just saying that" I smiled. Ally smiled as well but I could tell it wasn't as genuine as her other smiles.

We stayed in the library till it was about fifteen minutes left of class. While we were walking out of the library, I saw Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane, and Normani kordei or as everyone else calls them the mysterious three walking towards their lockers. They moved to Langley falls about two months ago and live in the woods just outside of town by themselves, of course knowing this they were instantly considered popular by the others, they however don't talk to anyone who isn't in their circle of friends which only includes themselves.

Lauren and I made a split second of eye contact, but I quickly looked away from her, not being able to look at her.

"You've been crushing on her, since what? After she moved here?" Ally asked as we stopped by her locker to put some books up. I was resting up against the locker next to Ally, looking at Lauren, before I turned back to ally.

"I can't help it, I mean look at her," I say looking back at Lauren who's standing up against the locker next to Normani locker, listening intensely to something, I guess Normani said. "She's like a goddess or something," I say, running a hand through my hair. "I just wish I could have a conversation with her though"

"Yea, well you and me both" Ally laughed.

"Oh shut up" nudging her with my shoulder, laughing as well. Our laughter, however, was cut short when ally locker was slammed, making us jump back and look at the culprit. We were met with none other than the head cheerleader Ariana and her minions.

"Well, well, look at what we got here girls" she had a menacing look in her. "A couple of nerds"

"I think you meant geeks" Selena inject.

"You do realize they both mean the same thing, right?" I asked slowly, looking between the two.

"Are you talking back to me? Cuz if so that's a big mistake" Ariana said, taking a threatening step closer to Ally and me. From the corner of my eye, I can see Lauren and the girls standing there watching as this unfolds in front of them. I don't know why I was upset for thinking that she'd help us out, but I was.

"Jump!!" Ariana hissed, pretending to jump at us, making me and Ally jump back out of fear, also causing me to drop one of the books. Before I could bend down and get it back. She quickly picked up. "Bitten?" She questioned, showing it to her friends, looking at the cover.

"Ugh, one of her werewolves books again," Hailee said with an uninteresting tone, rolling her eyes. "God what a loser"

"I know right" Selena laughed

"Can I just get my book back?" I asked growing a bit impatient with them. It's the same thing every day.

"Aw, is little Camila getting upset?" Ariana faked out, making her friends laugh.

"Give it back to her," Ally said, trying to snatch it away from her, but to no avail.

"Aww, look the little munchkin is trying to help, how cute" Selena coaxed.

"Just give me back my Damn book!!" I yelled a bit at her. "Or I'll-"

"You'll what? Cry" she laughed, seeing as I'm on the verge of doing so.

"Give her the book" All heads turned to the raspy voice. We were all frozen when we saw it was Lauren with Dinah and Normani close behind her. "Did I stutter? Give her back the book" She stated to a frozen Ariana. One of Ariana friends nudged her slightly snapping her, out of her daze.

"R-right h-here you go" she stuttered, giving me back my book almost immediately. I took it from her, looking at her strangely. Both me and Ally looked at each other then back to Lauren and Ariana.

"Now apologize and leave" Lauren demanded, not once taking her intimidating green eyes away from Ariana. Ariana hissed a small sorry and turned away with her friends following close behind her.

"T-thanks" I stuttered out too nervous to even be talking to her. She gave me the smallest smile ever, that if I wasn't close to her I would've missed it, I gave her a smile in return then she left with Dinah and Normani in pursuit. "That was a bit weird"

"Yea, just a bit but at least you got your book back thanks to them"

"Yea, I know- oh my gosh, I just realized we just spoke to Lauren Jauregui"

"No, correction You just spoke to Lauren Jauregui" Ally clarified, smiling at me. "I was simply a bystander" she laughed, opening up her locker once again.

"Well, whatever" rolling my eyes at her. "Did you see the way she looked at me?" I say dreamy-like.

"You mean how she just looked at you as if you were just a wall? Yup did"

"Haha, I'm crying of laughter" I sarcastically said. "But no she smiled at me"

"Sure she did," Ally said unconvinced closing her locker. "Come on let's get to class"

"What period is it?"

"Mhm third, so math for you and chemistry for me"

"Yayy me and Lauren share that class" I happily said, now more excited about math. "And She only sits a few seats in front of me"

"Good for you Mila" ally smiled. "Now, go learn some math"

"Yea, and maybe if I'm lucky enough Lauren will talk to me again"

"You got big dreams girl" And with that we made our to class, hoping that nothing will happen and praying that school will go by faster.
