Chapter 2

Camila's pov

It's currently Thursday and I'm at home because I'm sick. Which is a lie, I just couldn't go to school after what happened the other day.

Flashback

"Looks, like we meet again," Ariana said walking towards me with her gang and half the basketball team. With ally being at the hospital for some family issue, I was left alone to deal with Ariana and her minions by myself.

"Where's your little sidekick?" Zack asked, looking for her.

"Her name is Ally and she's not my sidekick?" I growled not wanting to deal with them today. After the whole Lauren coming to my rescue the other day, Ariana has been ten times worst with her insults and bullying.

"Don't talk back" she hissed, smacking the books I was holding out of my hands.

"I-I don't want any t-trouble, Ariana," I say, getting on my knees to pick up my books. As I reached out for the last one, someone put their big ass foot on it, making it hard for me to grab it. "May I please have my book, Zayn?" I asked, getting up, looking at him.

Believe it or not, but back in elementary school Zayn and I were pretty close til he started hanging out with the new girl aka Ariana and ever since then, it's been different.

"What book?" He sarcastically asked, giving me a confused look. "Oh, you mean this book?" He said, picking up the book that his foot was on. "I don't know if I should, Ariana what do you think?" He asked, turning to look at her with a small smile.

"Mhm" grabbing the book away from Zayn she inspects it then looks at me with a smirk. "Get on your knees" she commands. I gave her a what the fuck look.

"What! No, I'm not doing that" I say, standing my ground.

"Oh, so you don't want the book? So I guess it'll be ok if I just" instead of continuing she opened up the book and ripped out a page. "Oops," she mocked, throwing it on the ground. Zayn and the rest of her posse started laughing and taking turns ripping out my pages.

"No, no stop please" I begged, running up trying to get it back, but Zayn and some of his buddies stood tall blocking me from them.

"On your knees," Ariana said once more. Seeing as I didn't have many options I got down on my knees looking up at her. "Good doggy, now beg" she commanded, smirking at me. Doing as she said I started scratching on her leg begging, from the corner of my eye I saw both Normani and Dinah standing on the far end of the lockers giving me sad looks, before walking away. Lauren however, was nowhere in sight during all of this.

"Good girl" Selena coaxed laughing patting my head.

"Fetch!" Ariana yelled, throwing my book in the other direction. When I try to stand up to get the book, Ariana looking at me with a threatening look, basically telling me to get back down. Doing what she wants I got back down on my knees slowly crawling my way to my book. When I reached my book I saw Lauren by herself standing on the far side of the hall, giving me a disappointing look, then walking off.

End of flashback

So now I'm just sitting around in my room, trying to forget about it by looking up some fun facts about werewolves. I know to some people they think it's boring or even dumb, but to me and Ally we think it's amazing because there has got to be more out here in the world than just us plain old humans.

I was interrupted by my bedroom door opening up, revealing my ten-year-old younger sister Sofia.

"Hey, princess" I beamed, setting my phone down moving it to the side.

"Hi," she said, running into my arms.

"Watcha up to?" I questioned, picking her up in my lap.

"Nothing," she said hiding her face in my chest. I heard her stifling, and felt my shirt getting wet.

"Sofia?" I asked worried, getting her to look at me. "What is it?" I asked, looking into her red puffy eyes.

"Some boy at my school named Kenny, keeps on teasing me and taking my crayons, or he'll pull on my hair" she explained, wiping away some tears.

"He probably has a crush on you" I instantly snapped my head towards the door. Standing there in my doorway was Lauren Jauregui. "Your mom let me in on her way out" she explained, walking in farther, sitting in my desk chair.

I just sat there staring at her, not knowing what to do with myself.

"You think so?" Sofia asked her, now in her lap. I guess in my spacing out Sofia got up and went to Lauren. Lauren looked at me, then back to her.

"I know so, in fact, I bet he thinks you're the most beautiful girl he has ever seen and doesn't know how to tell you"

"I hope so because I think he's kinda beautiful too" she giggled cutely, getting off her lap, coming back to me. "Your friend has gorgeous eyes" she whispered in my ear, leaving.

I looked to Lauren who had a bit of pink on her cheeks. Now, I could be picturing this, but I think Lauren is blushing.

She cleared her throat before speaking to me. "I came to see if you were ok, your friend told me you were under the weather" she explained. "But from the looks of it, I say you're perfectly fine" she smirked, crossing her arms.

Busted

"It comes and goes" I tried to lie. Lauren of course didn't buy it. "H-how you get my address?" I wondered, now realizing that I had never told her where I live.

"Simple, I'm drawn to it," she said. Now I could just be hearing things but after she said that, I could've sworn she said 'and you'

"What does that mean?" I asked puzzled.

"Why did you skip school?" She instead questioned, looking at me with her intimidating green eyes. Feeling a bit uncomfortable from her gaze, I looked to the floor.

"...I um.. after" I was having a bit of a difficult time talking. One being, that I'm talking to Lauren, and the second being, she's in my room. "After what Ariana did to me I couldn't show up" I explained, now meeting her gaze. Lauren had a look of disgust, before standing up.

"Why?"

"I was humiliated by her, I mean I know it's not the first time but it's still humiliating"

"You like to read and learn about werewolves, right?" She questioned, walking over to my bookcase that has books about werewolves and hybrids.

"Yea" I answered, watching as she picked up one of the books.

"Then you should know, a wolf never submits to anyone," she says, putting a book back in its place.

"They do if it's their alpha or the Alpha female," I tell her, sitting upright in my bed.

"Is she your alpha?" She questioned, with an eyebrow raised and her arms folded behind her back.

"..No but-" Lauren didn't let me finish, instead she cut me off.

"There's no but's Camila" she stated. "As an alpha female-"

"Huh? What do you mean? I'm no alpha wife" I stated now confused. Lauren had a look of sadness and hurt flash across her face but it went away too quickly.

"You must stand your ground when threatened," she tells me walking towards me. "If you want Ariana to respect you, then you must show her that she has no control over you and that you will not tolerate any of it" she advised walking to the door walking out.

Lauren Jauregui may be hot but I swear she is such a mysterious person that it makes me wonder why I'm so drawn to her.
