Chapter IV - "The Dazzling Charmer"

Still linking an extremely charming man, Katerina walked into the event room. As they both passed through the crowds heads turned and everyone in the room began to clap. Kat turned red with embarrassment, with no idea what was going on. People began to greet Tyler and congratulate him on something. Tyler pulled her all the way up to the stage where the microphone was. Kat stepped back slightly, still stood on the stage but too awkward to make her way back down into the crowd. Photographers took photographs of him and interviewers began to ask him questions. One asked “Tyler you’re a successful actor and model, after finishing this film what do you intend to do next with your career?” Tyler cleared his throat and his charming smile returned to his face “That’s a straight forward answer; I’m going to Russia for a few months to shoot a new television series that will be airing next year in summer. So stay tuned for that, as well as a couple movies I’ll be doing ‘The three deadly sins’ and ‘Murder Romance.’” Another interviewer spat out a question as fast as she could before any other reporters could “I can presume ‘Murder Romance’ will be a romance movie, this is a role that all your female fans have been anticipating for a long time, do you think you’ll be able to be the romantic type instead of your usual bad boy image.” Tyler smiled now showing his pearly whites and the photographers had a field day with their cameras. He began to speak in his deep and promiscuous voice “Indeed it is a romance film and I consider my normal character to be one of a romantic so you may be seeing the real me in that film on the romance side of things and I hope all my female supporters will enjoy it.” The crowd laughed along with Tyler after his last answer although one more reporter noticed something fishy and decided to ask another question “Tyler may we ask who is the female you brought on your arm this evening?” Kat blushed as all eyes fixed on her. Tyler chuckled and continued “This beautiful woman is a childhood friend of mine, and this is the first time we’ve met since children so I thought I’d bring her to one of these parties to catch up.” One reporter added “Can we confirm childhood sweethearts over childhood friends?” Tyler laughed “You miss reporter are going to upset my female fans, I have no romantic interests at the moment except the love of my fans.” The female reporters melted at his words and the boys laughed it off.

After the interview Tyler escorted Katerina off the stage and back down onto the level floor. He turned to her and said sharply “I’m sorry about that little lie about childhood friends; you can imagine how reporters are when writing about celebrities.” Katerina waved her hands around in front of her “no it’s fine! I’m Katerina by the way.” Tyler smiled “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” As they turned to face the surrounding room a couple linked by the arm walked over to them both. Katerina’s face curled up into a frown not happy with whom she saw. Jaspar Smith with a beautiful woman on his arm approached her and Tyler. Jaspar first looked at Tyler and spoke in an austere tone of voice “Congratulations, I’ve arranged the preparations for Russia so I’ll see you off when you go.” Tyler nodded and thanked him. Tyler then looked at the female beside Jaspar. It was Eleri Phelps a famous super model. Katerina recognised her off all the Vogue magazines she had read; she was even more beautiful in person. She has a beautiful face with blue eyes and long, blonde, glamorous loops of hair down against her chest. Tyler smiled at Eleri though his smile less charming than usual “Hello Eleri.” Eleri smiled at him not evening giving him a proper reply. Katerina looked away from the awkward Tyler and Eleri towards Jaspar who already was looking at her. Jaspar smiled down at her and said “You look different Miss Hughes, almost feminine. I hope you enjoy your evening.” He then turned and Eleri followed on after him.

Kat turned to Tyler “don’t tell me the amazing Eleri is dating that guy?” Tyler looked puzzled “Do you know Jay?” Jay? She had to think for a bit before realising he had abbreviated his name. She answered “Yeah he’s my boss.” Tyler grinned “Oh he’s my boss too, are you an actress or a model for Prestige Stars?” Katerina tried to hold in a laugh but ended up laughing her heart out at his question. She replied still half laughing “Me a model or an actress, how funny. No I’m a personal assistant to the head of the acting department in Prestige Stars.” Tyler looked a little shocked “Oh, I just assumed by how beautiful you were that you were a model or something.” Katerina blushed though she didn’t know if he was joking or not because no male had ever said anything like this to her before. Kat smiled at him nervously “Excuse me a moment” then made her way through the crowds of people towards a small corridor. The corridor was long and quite thin. Trying to find a way out of this place the lighting got darker. She heard footsteps behind her, but they stopped just before passing her. Someone placed their hands on her shoulder and she started breathing heavily. She could feel someone with short hair beside them as their hair brushed against her own. They parted their lips and began to speak into her ear in a quiet voice “You look like you’re about to shit yourself…”

Kat jumped in front of herself, moving away from the voice and the hands. She instantly knew that voice and a rush of embarrassment have run through her. She glanced over to the darkened Nathaniel due to the lack of light and hissed “Oh it’s you.” He started laughing loudly making her feel even more embarrassed. He grinned “You thought you were being stalked or something, that’s hilarious. I was just wondering where my stupid sl- well where you were wandering off too.” Katerina frowned “I feel faint so I was just going to go upstairs.” Nathaniel shrugged “These parties are awful anyways, I’m going up too so let’s go.” He walked off and Katerina followed on behind him.

When they reached the room they awkwardly were laid in their beds, metres away from one another. Nathan was laid in his bed with his eyes open and Katerina had hers closed but she was awake. Nathan began to murmur something to her “You look different, it’s really weird. Doesn’t suit you.” Katerina contained herself from an angry outburst from what he said and just tried to ignore him. However Nathan carried on “At least some form of being may find you attractive now even if it is a lesbian.” Katerina turned to him and screamed “NATHAN.” He turned in his bed to face towards her too. She hurled her pillow at his head, and it knocked him off the bed onto the floor. He scrambled back onto the bed with a frown on his face. She screamed at him “GO TO BED…THAT IS AN ORDER.” He rubbed his head and growled like a school boy, laying himself back down. He closed his eyes and muttered one more time “I was just trying to give a compliment… women.”
