Chapter 9 : Sagittarius

Artemis walked around the courtyard in her new school uniform. Ugh! She thought, I hate this! I hate hate hate skirts! 

She wanted to rip this lame skirt off and jump into her favourite grey jeans. 

And boy, did she want to get rid of it. Her hands were curled up into fists to prevent her from doing anything funny. Like throwing away that darn skirt. 

She stumbled around, bumping into people. Mainly because the school uniform required high- heeled shoes, another thing she detested. 

She then saw the impossible, a person wearing pants, standing a few feet away. 

She squinted. It looked like a guy. A guy?? What was a guy doing in an all-girls school? 

She saw Leona talking to him. This guy looks an awful lot like Jazz, she thought.  

She was right. He had her auburn hair and slate eyes. He had her rather annoying smile.  

Who was this freak? 

Artemis walked towards him. 

Maybe this is Jazz, she thought. 

"Hey, Jazz!" she declared, "why are you dressed up like a guy? Is this one of your things?" 

'Jazz's' face turned red. "I'm not umpff-" 

Jazz appeared out of nowhere and clamped a hand over his mouth. "That's my twin brother, Jack" 

"Um-oh!" Artemis said, rather embarrassed. "He came here to visit me. And of course, his best friend, Leona." 

Jazz winked at him.  

Jack punched her on the arm and Jazz stuck her tongue out at him.  

He stuck his tongue out too and fled. 

"He got away!" Leona said. "Great," Jazz muttered, "let's just get outta here." 

Artemis bumped into something, or rather- someone. It was Marceline. She was in a huge rush, and there was a terrified look on her face. Something was definitely wrong. 

"G-guys!" she screeched, come quick, hurry!"  

"What's the rush?" Leona demanded.  

"Snakes," she breathed, "everywhere!" "WHAT?!" Roxy screamed, "Let's go!" 

They all hobbled n their shoes as they ran to the room, and then threw the door open. They all gasped in horror. 

Everybody in room were wrapped by snakes. Selene was battling with a snake on her arm. Another one was slithering up Ember's leg. Ilana tried hard to yank off the snake on her neck. And poor Heather was completely wrapped up.  

She even had a snake gagged around her mouth. Her face was a ghostly white. 

The rest of the girls were scampering around, trying to keep the snakes off them. Artemis quickly pushed all the girls in and shut the door. 

She ran to save Heather, who was starting to go blue. But she tripped. 

"No!" she cried. The snakes flew at her, and wound all around her. She felt herself fall to the ground. She saw the other snakes winding around the rest of the girls. 

She shed a tear. And suddenly realized something. 

My charm! Zenith said I could transform with it! 

She pushed away a few snaked with great difficulty and found her charm. "I summon the Guardian of Sagittarius!" she cried. 

She felt power fill her. 

Bring it on! She thought.
