Chapter 11 : Aquarius

Selene blinked as the light faded away. She found herself in a clearing in a forest. 

"Who," she said to herself. "She's got some major magical mojo. Cool." 

Medusa just smirked. 

"Now, to get rid of you!" she yelled. She began to grow taller. "This is going to get ugly," she said. 

It did. Medusa grew and grew. Her legs disappeared into a slithery tail. She looked even creepier now. 

She shot a huge snake at them. It went for Selene. Oh crud, she thought. She threw her hands out in front of her, and without a thought said "Ice shield!" 

As the name suggested, a shield of solid ice appeared between her and the snake. It landed on the ice with a splat. Selene heaved a sigh of relief. 

But not for long. 

She heard something whizz past her ear. Another snake. She looked up. Medusa had turned into a snake cannon. Ugh. 

"Eat stardust, snake!" Leona shouted. She flung a ball of sunlight at the snakes. They lay on the ground, stunned. 

Jazz blew a few more away. Roxy added some thunder and Paris started a fierce storm. But that only made Medusa angrier. 

"You pathetic fools!" she howled, "I will show you!" 

Saying this she multiplied. And multiplied. And multiplied until there were twelve of her. 

"Now we're even," all of the Medusas said, "twelve on twelve." 

The Medusas began to attack. They started on Blossom. They flung her away and she landed in a tree. Next was Roxy. Then Ember. Then Ilana......... 

Selene watched in horror as all her friends fell down, one by one. She couldn't bear it anymore. 

No! she thought, no more. I'm gonna fight! 

She ran and showered the Medusas with icicles. It had no effect. One of them casually hit her away, like a fly. 

Selene felt a horrible sudden pain in her stomach, and then everything was a blur. She opened her eyes. She couldn't see straight. She was very dizzy... 

She saw everyone down, hurt. She heard a voice ringing above her. 

"No!" it said, "Selene!" 

Selene turned herself with great difficulty and found Jazz standing up. She was staggering and stumbling. 

"I won't let you do this!" she screamed. 

"I already have. Look at you. You are defeated. You and your pesky comrades are no match for me." 

"No!" Jazz yelled in rage. She began to glow brightly. 

"We are!" she screamed. 

She began to multiply too, and before Selene knew it, there were hundreds of 'Jazzes' all over the place. They charged at the real Medusa. They pinned her down, pouring over her, pulling her hair and kicking her. She was down. 

All her clones disappeared. Leona and Marceline stood up. So did the rest of the girls, save Blossom (she was still in the tree). 

All the Jazzes looked Medusa in the eye.  

"Come near my friends again, and I will kill you!" she threatened. 

Again, the white light filled the room. Selene was starting to get sick of it. 

Oh yeah, she thought, we rocked. And nobody, not even a lame ol' enemy can stand in our way.  

Nobody.
