Weekend was finally here. This week was much busier as i had to keep all my assignments and works updated for my weekend to be free. Besides, I also had to call Annie to inform her I couldn't join her. Though I have told her not to a thousand times, she wants to set me up with some guy she knows and trusts at the party she said. So, as easy as it seems, its not when it comes to people who are close to us. They totally use their right to get angry at the smallest things. Thats cute and mind me, you do not ignore them legitimately like for others. They are just important. That being said, I met her the day before, just to ease out things and create some air hoping it would drag away the tension that a phone call could have otherwise created. And bam! It did work.
I slept until late in the morning today to gain something from my beauty sleep. Today after the party I'm going to go to Uma's for a sleepover. Her parents are out of town and so my mother agreed for it. The rest of the day was spent in reading books and watching Game Of Thrones. As much as I believe in doing things I won't regret and would make good memories to cherish, i regretted watching GOT instantly because of the awesome cliffhanger it left me wondering about.
Soon it was time for me to get all dolled up. I hate this part actually, I won't bother skipping it anytime, but something about today is making me do this justly. Some intuition, maybe. I decide to wear my newly bought one piece, whose top is orange and lower part consists of some arabic designs on a black piece which touches the top of my knees. I perform my regular makeup, just a bit darker to highlight my perky features and tan. High-length black shoes with wedges and I'm all set, well atleast I guess.
I am quite amazed to see that I worked myself in a good amount of time as theres some time still left for me to leave, which I could use to watch another GOT episode.
I couldn't resist watching the whole episode so, I'm late again. Anyway its a party. The route is mostly straight and easy. Reaching the destination, I realize its a huge bungalow, and there are a lot more people than I expected. For the third time in two days I regret, this time for not bringing in a company with me.
I enter the huge house. It actually is a huge one, brightly lighted mostly with white, with a huge chandelier in the centre of the hall as well. People of all ages are here, engrossed in talking to their own groups. People of my age group? I'd say a few. Needless to say, I'm already nervous and bored.
Just then, I sight the birthday girl. Thank heavens! She's far away, I decide to walk to her. Go to her. Wish her. Gift her. Talk confidently. You look good. Hurry. As I'm walking, I find a waiter roaming around, serving momos. Just two of these and I'll persue with the rest quickly. I quickly change my route, head towards him n grab two pieces. Slipping one into my mouth, I look back to my final point. "Where is she?"
My eyes wander in all the possible directions she could have gone, but to no avail. I don't know the place, so I'm in no mood to go searching for her. Instead, I decide to stop by that part of the hall where drinks are being served. No, I'm not kidding. Yes, I'm with no company. So what? I'm seventeen and its enough. I'm just gonna choke in a couple of sips.Im sitting on one of the stools at the bar-area. I pick up a red cup. I want to try something else too but I don't know what. I look at a guy sitting on the alternate stool next to me, to my right. The drink in front of him looks attractive. I notice the waiter waiting for me to order. I sign him to lean in. He does. I whisper to him, rather confidently to not sound dumb at the moment and pointing at the guy, "the one that guy's having please". The waiter smiles in reflex and does what hes told. I take a sip of the new drink served before me. Its, warm and wild and itchy, and does burn throughout my neck and stomach. Positive. I like it. Instinctively I turn to the guy next to me, who I sense was already looking at me. He kind of sends me a smirk, meaning he knew I copied his taste. I smiled back.
After downing both the shots, I decided to meet Nikita and leave the boring party.I stood up, my eye scanning the hall to find the birthday girl. Everything was fine barring my vision, which was showing me a little blurred surroundings. I didn't notice somebody was standing next to me until they spoke. "I suppose you need help miss. May I?" I'd guess this was the same 'smirk guy'; handsome maybe. Maybe not, I can't even see straight.
"Er, actually yeah, I'm having a bit of trouble finding Nikita. I need to wish her." I half-smile, just to make sure I do not sound rude.
"Oh cool. I'm Nikita's friend and maybe I know where she is. Follow me, will you?"
"Yeah, thankyou."
The boy finally did lead me to Nikita. I met her, wished her, gifted her, and talked to her for sometime. I decided to leave and head to Uma's instead, not knowing the rest or sleep that I was hoping for, there, was far away from what was to happen.
