"Ow! You're making me trip over things time and again, idiot! What are you upto and where are we even walking?" Uma said. She just tripped over a can on the way. My large-sized hankerchief was a good blindfold to her."Just keep walking Uma." I couldn't stop the wide smile I had on my face from about fifteen minutes. I was enjoying this dare just much.
"Ow! Hell, that hurts. Aria, why the hell are you not guiding me, to walk properly?" She banged onto a pole, on the footpath we were walking on.
"Fuck. I'm sorry Uma, I really didn't do this on purpose and you have to trust me!" Uma's nose had turned red like a strawberry. I couldn't hold in my laugh and burst out at the wrong moment. As much as I enjoyed recording a video of her trippin again and again while walking, I actually didn't mean for her to dash onto the pole. Anyway, it really was funny, she being confused like never before and scared of running into things. "To your right now", I said in the middle of tease-laughing at her. I was directing her according to my instincts, not that I knew this area; she would know so she could take us back home after her dare.We were now on an empty street with no buildings or nothing, just an old garden, old enough not to attract kids to come play in its area. I asked Uma to walk faster for sometime. At the end of the street, I spotted a group of huge houses to the left. "Okay, turn left now." I instructed. I directed her right to the bungalows. This area had streetlights but I had no idea why they weren't put on. It was pitch black, so I turned my phone's assistive torchlight and decided to continue walking, just for the sake of doing something interesting.
As we walked ahead, my assistive torchlight helped show, that we were in front of a bungalow already. "Cool, lets stop right here. Now comes the final part Uma." I smiled. "Ha! Already? Bring it on." She chirped.
"Okay so, now you shall walk around 15 steps from here. I'll ask you to stop. Then, do as I say and you can remove your blindfold." I said.
She expressed her nerves rising but said, "Okay. Lets do this." She half-smiled.
"Start."She started walking, and I called her out signalling her to stop. I made her adjust to the exact position I wanted her to be in, just besides the door of the house. "Now raise your right hand, yes, a l'll lower, cool", I said directing her, "Now press your finger forward." I giggled.
"You ass, you' re asking me to press the doorbell of some house, aren't you?" She giggled, too. "Anyway, I'd like to do this." We both chuckled. She took her blindfold off, yes, it was against the rule, but I didn't say anything as she was anyway doing the dare. Just when she was about to press the doorbell, a voice shouted,"Hey, what are you doing there you burglars? Stop right there!" Uma and I were alarmed. I dropped my phone on the ground. It was a slip from my sweaty hands and it switched off due to the hard drop
. We looked back to the person, standing still, knowing not what was to be done at the moment. The person was walking towards us ready. "Wait, what are two girls doing at this minute of the clock here?" The voice said, approaching us. It was a male voice. It was dark enough and nobody could see anybody. He must have guessed by the unclear view of our dresses. Uma was still by the door, and all of a sudden, she said, loud enough for the guy to hear,"Oh my god, are you Tylor, um, Tylor Stark? Please be it positive." The guy replied, now heading towards Uma, "Yeah, who are you? I'm sorry I cannot see your face clearly." "I'm Uma, Tylor. Mid-school". "Uma! What are you doing here this late at night? And how are you?" All of us started laughing. Co-incidences are rare, and when they happen, they leave you in awe; awe towards life, such incidences, situations and the way we put ourselves in these and get ourselves shocked. However, I believe, co-incidences, whether huge or petty, do signal things. If we catch them, maybe we find what we are searching for, "catching them" being the keywords here. After relaxing for a while, Uma said walking towards me, "Nothing much, we were taking a stroll around here, so just happened to be here." Tyler came too.
"At this hour of night?" He chuckled, "And? Oh comeon, I know you."
Uma laughed and gave in, "Okay, we were playing dares and were just going to ring the doorbell for starters, nothing much; and oh, I forgot, Tyler, meet my friend Aria. We know each other since Highschool. Aria, Tyler, my friend from my previous school.""Hey! Nice to meet you." We chirped together, me waving to him and he, putting forth his hand for a handshake. We chuckled, this time doing the exact opposite. I leaned my hand in and he waved. All three of us started to laugh. "Dares and all huh, do guys want to complete this one?" Tyler winked. "Are you serious? Why would you let us do that", I chuckled. "Well, the lady staying here is my neighbour. You must know by now that I live here, specifically in that bungalow", he said pointing towards it, "So basically this lady is very annoying, has always been. I like to give her reasons to get annoyed for the least. So, lets ring the bell, each of us gets their chance, and run." "Cool", Uma said with a wide smile. Next was obvious, all of us went back, rang the doorbell, each of us, and ran with the speed of hungry leopards, or so I'd say.
By now, we were out of the group of bungalows. We relaxed at a safe distance, catching our breaths. Uma and Tyler discussedd a little bit of here and there, while I maintained a constant smile on my face. "Cool then, we better get going now, it was great meeting you, Tyler", Uma smiled cheekily. "Yeah, it was great to meet you two. I will go home from the other side", Tyler laughed, and said eyeing each of us at a time, "Hope to see you soon. Goodnight". "Yeah, last 10 minutes were sure fun. Goodnight", I beamed. "By the way," he called out before we could turn to leave. "You guys look stunning toda-night!", he said, chuckling and winking at the same time. Uma took the compliment, thanked him remarked him cool as well and me, I felt my blood, that always is just waiting for the smallest compliment, rush towards my cheeks. I wanted to hide till my cheeks get normal but, duh. I smiled back at him. Done.
We departed on our ways. I told Uma I didn't know the area so she had to take us back home. She confessed she didn't know much about this part of her neighbourhood, too. So, we google-mapped our way back. We were home by 4.30 am. It felt awesome to be home, for a change. After the boring evening, the night actually made my day, yesterday plus the one which was arriving too. We slept when everyone was about to rise in a couple of hours. Didn't matter, it was a weekend. The best feeling before sleeping this tired, was knowing that we had enough time to complete our sleep.
I slowly, kind of resistantly, cracked my eyes open. I wanted to go to sleep again, but something felt un-timed. My eyes first went to the clock, which read 1.10 pm. Now I know what was so un-timed- me waking up at 1 pm in the afternoon. Within seconds, a clear summary of the night's memories ran through my mind. One thing wasn't clear at all. His face. It was just so dark when I met that guy. Plus, the whole street adjacent to the group of houses wasn't lighted. I did see him for a matter of fact, but I don't remember his face is what matters right now. Anyway. WAIT. Where's my phone? Seven hells! I left my cellphone fallen on the ground in his area.
