"Home before midnight?" Smiling, she said in sarcasm, knowing the evening for which I dolled myself up for was boring as fuck. I rolled my eyes at her to which she replied by saying, "Nikita for sure is fun. What do you say Aria, I'd like to know your definiton of an 'intuition' for fun." She started tease-laughing at me.Yes, nobody can beat her at sarcasm, or so I'd say, because I am the one who usually decides to shutup and end the sarcastic debates among us. No bestfriend can leave the other one deprieved of insults, sarcasms and teases, which is the best thing because we know they are the ones who won't get offended by our nugatory remarks. This frankness is one of the many reasons, that I believe in friendships more than other relations.
By now, Uma and I, both were laughing uncontrollably. Trying to gather ourselves, we walked to her bedroom and sat on her bed. A few seconds of silence and we started laughing again. My stomach hurt right now. Slowly relaxing, we lay on her bed. Damn, it felt good finally. "I'm hungry", I said. "I have nothing left", she said.
"What? Why? Did you forget I was coming, duh?" I rolled my eyes.
"I thought you'd fill ur belly and return, duh."
"Urgh, okay leave."
"Lets go out, dinner date."
"Look at the clock dumb. No hotel would get the nerves we are visiting them and would keep themselves available", I said yawning.
"Um, exactly. Exactly wrong." She smiled. "Stay here. Don't change your outfit yet. I 'll be back. Period."
I wanted to ask and enquire and comment, but I knew whatever it was, it was going to be fun, regardless of how tired I was. I stayed put.
She changed into a simple but pretty blue dress too. "What are we upto?",
I asked. "Dinner date, don't ask where and afterwards, i don't know. We'll see." "Cool, plus nobody knows we'll be out. Cooler. What are we waiting for?"
My feet by now, hurt due to the wedges, so I quickly put on a pair of matching orange shoes. Uma wore blue shoes too. We drank some water, took some money that we had for us, Uma took the housekeys and we left. It was past midnight now, so the streets were almost empty. Just a couple of vehicles passing by around. "So, which way, and let me ask now, where exactly!?" She giggled and said "Okay fine. I know a place which is open through the night as well. The place may not please the eyes, but the taste will definately. Lets go walking." "Cool" was all I had to say, not that i didn't trust her. No. It was just that, we were actually insane enough to do such things. I giggled at the thought of it. "What?" She said. "Nothing, guess what could I be thinking." We both smiled. "I know this is insane, but you are liking it thats why you're walking." "Ofcourse."It was a walk of around 25 minutes. By now, both of our mothers had called to enquire about our well-being and both of us told that we would netflix some movies and go to sleep. I looked around to spot a small diner place. "Uma, is that the place you were talking about?", I said poining towards the diner-like place. "Yup", she said. "Come."
It was an open area. There were no walls except the area where cooking took place. There were round tables and chairs around them. We took our seats on two of the chairs. Right now, there were no customers except us. Expected, wierd, but cool. Uma called out one of the servers by some name I don't know. I wasn't paying attention. Just that I came to know that she was quite known here. "Hello again, maam. Your order is being prepared, what bout hers?", he said looking at me. I awkwardly smiled in the midst of processing his words. They even knew what she'd order. "She will have the same", she smiled without even asking me. She turned to me and said before I could, "Trust me, you'll love it." "Fine." This was exciting and confusing, because I had no control over all of this as I was unknown to the place. I usually like being sorted or known. Who doesn't anyway? "So you have had enough nightouts to be known here, huh?" I winked at her. She laughed and said, "Not many, a handful of them. Plus, I don't actually bring company with me here. Its just that I like it this way. I visit this place, eat and go home." Our diner arrived. It was kind of a burger, not exactly; the stuffing was actually attractive. Some macaroni overly flooded with melted cheese, some beans and a meat-patty, with pieces of something red for sweetness maybe. A wierd combo but a treat to the eyes. I took the first bite of it, and mahn! It was heaven. There was silence the whole time we we both were savoring the dish. Just us, munching. After eating, we looked at each other and smiled so broad our cheeks could tear apart. "I loved it!" I finally said. "Didn't I tell you?" We drank some pepsi later, payed and left.
"Now what?", I turned to face Uma. "You suggest?" She said. "Um, Okay, my turn, so lets dare each other." I smirked. "What? Not now." "Why? Are you afraid you wont be able to?" I smiled.
"Ofcourse, not."
"Then Uma, tell me whats your definition of 'fun' here? My smile grew.
"Okay, fine. Lets do it." She returned my smirk.
"Cool, starting with the basics first okay?"
"Done."
"Uma, I dare you to put on a blindfold, walk and do as I direct you to."
Her eyeballs became normal before dropping out of their sockets. She was keeping calm with her expressions.
"Cool Aria, lets start."
